The one thing now is that we need some banner images, as funny as it would be to have the banner randomly picked from such fabulous choices as my or Meister's avatars.

Who wants to get on making these? I'd be willing to make some, if inspiration strikes.

Do you think we should stick with some manner of format, like "The text needs to be on the right and blah blah blah," or should we just go nuts? I'm for going nuts, with maybe a size limit, maybe 250x110, since that's what the current one is.

Well, in my non-mattering opinion, I'm all for going nuts, then picking the ones we like best. Could have a few uniform elements/design choices between each of the images (Font face, colors used...) for the sake of uniformity, but I'm all for creativity in placement et cetera.

Whelp I was going to set up some official guidelines for this in the mod forum before bringing it all down to you folk but since y'all are so kindly doing it for yourselves, allow me to put down what we're looking for in a handy-dandy new thread for y'alls, since the topic of this one has stopped being "stuff we recovered" and has become "let's make new stuff".

e: I'll go make it at some point tonight or tomorrow, I need to go eat and practice.

Uniformity though - same dimensions on all banner images. I don't want to have to worry about things going wonky at all due to differing sizes.

Definitely. I'd suggest a bit bigger than robo up there, just so that there are more layout options with him in it that don't require downsizing him.

Screw your rules, Fenry, I already made two. Actually, I just grabbed pictures of Wong making funny faces and threw some Anime Ace on them, but whatever.

The font might be a little too small here.

Same thing, but with 222222.

Now with other colors. I have a jpg version of this that's a quarter of the KB, but the colors are sorta washed out on that one.

Ninja edit: These are all 250 by 110, but I can totally make bigger versions or use different dimensions.

Something I forgot edit: We need a "Play now, my lord" banner. The kind with tissues. I'm-a watch cartoons until you guys figure out some guidelines now.

The problem with the third one is that I'd have to upscale the source image to make it bigger. I mean, MSperoni could give me a bigger version of the comic to work with, but otherwise we're talking blur.

But, yeah, it's my favorite, too.

Occurred to me after posting edit: Hey, be sure to include a file size limit in them there guidelines. Seems important.

Even after I learned, grew up, and came to be on the right side of a lot of important issues, I was still angry, abrasive, and generally increased the amount of hate in the world, in pretty unacceptable ways. On the off chance that someone is taking a trip down memory lane looking through those old threads, I wanted to devote my signature to say directly to you, I'm sorry. Thank you for letting me be better, NPF.
