The Knight in the Area 07 was glorious, but you guys wouldn't know because you don't watch sports animu (karuta doesn't count as a real sport).

You know what you fuckers should have watched while it was airing? Thermae Romae. Fucking flash animu is more entertaining that anything else that debuted this season.

My God I can't wait for the Spring, that shit actually looks worth the bother.

Also, are you watching Karuta and Crying? I didn't want to ask after you said everything this season was crap, but now that you've qualified that with a "debuted" I gotta ask.

All the spring anime I'm looking forward to will be awful. Zombies, Mysterious Girlfriends, and more Zombies but less magic. There's probably something decent that I'm not remembering, but those don't count, obviously.

Chihayafuru doesn't count as Winter anime. Indeed it is pretty noteworthy how it's leagues above everything this season despite the downgrade in animation and editing quality. These past two episodes haven't had the same oomph as the first cour, but they've still been very entertaining. My only real problem with the show is that there's only so many ways you can make karuta interesting for the viewer, so it tends to make up weaknesses for Chihaya depending on the opponent, but that's probably more at fault with the source material than the adaptation.

Spring anime will be pretty awesome though. Besides the Eureka Seven sequel you have a new Shinichiro Watanabe anime, a new Leiji Matsumoto anime, and a new Saint Seiya helmed by the guy behind Heartcatch Precure!

I've heard that Toei upgraded the OP and ED for episode 3 of Smile. I'm looking forward to more sparkles and bloody noses.

Heartcatch Precure transcends silly stuff like gender-roles.

Seriously serious Umakoshi's role in the new Saint Seiya goes beyond what he did for Sins and is a lot closer to his actual job at Heartcatch (that is, when he was available to work on Toei's god-awful schedule).

I watched Gyo like I said I would, Liz. It was alright. I'd probably like it more if I was a fan of media for adults. The crazy circus gas was pretty.

Ozuma for the Leiji Matsumoto recycles
Saint Seiya Omega for the hot Umakoshi action (also nostalgia)
Uchuu Kyoudai for the hope that it isn't shit
Ginga e Kickoff!! because GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Sengoku Collection because Brains Base kind of deserves some credit after Penguindrum
Nadia of the Blue Water because GAINAX was once cool
Eureka Seven AO because lol Bones
Hyouka because Kyoto Animation are objectively the best studio nowadays
Medaka Box because I wanna see GAINAX's corpse now that Imaishi has left
Sakamichi no Apollon because it's a fucking Shinichiro Watanabe cartoon with music by Yoko Kanno; what the fuck else you want? It even has boy love undertones for those who like it
Accel World because the trailer looked fun and actiony and crap.
Nazo no Kanojo X because I don't know I need to balance the awesome crap with trashy shit
And that Kenshin OVA which is gonna suck because lol Deen

Overall a much stronger season than Winter.
