Dancing Fantastic

With everything so
Morose
Down played on
the downlow
Cryptic weepings
and soul bleedingly seepings
My head spins
not from the sadness
madness
un-gladness
in this whole damn poetic scene

Why is it that
with such beauty in this world
with words to sing of it
it seems that,
while everyone is waxing horrific,
I am the only one
Dancing Fantastic?

always keeping
what beneath
away from me
screw you floor!
I hate you more than doors!

Lingering touch, whispering words
Plain to see, eye obscurred
Growing pain, shrinking heart
First long gone, it comes apart.

Can we look to heaven above,
to those who remain so stout?
A day devoted to the joy of love,
Mocking those that do without.

We seek another to hold as our own,
But our heart remains weary of an attack.
So we wait there by the phone,
But the fear will hold us back.

once I held a diamond
she laughed within my grasp
from every facet was reflected
my heart in dearest tones...

once I fell from heaven
shattered bone and mind
a smile strewn with tears
not mindful of the blood

diamonds are forever
my cliches, not so long
broken on an empty chance
payed my bets in full

time inside of love
weeks mean more than years
a certain silly side
fiercely longing

I still want to kiss you
lightly on the cheek
my love has aged
but not like wine...

grown old before its time
stereotyped with me
a childs dream of life
before he bared his all

all these words
dust within a maelstrom
vanity before a storm
and my smile will not fade

what man is this?
my mirrored gem
you reflect more than you see
but not for me, not at all

you never wanted me
as I was or as I am
I could have charmed the world
smiling all the while

The Ballad of Moosejaw Saskatchewan.

I've been to Paris, it's smelly and cold.
I've been to Athens where the buildings are old.
I've walked across Tazmania in the Antarctic Dawn,
But it just don't compare to old Saskatchewan.

I've skied in the Rockies and walked the white sands.
I've known people who could not find their ass with both hands.
I've sailed to Tahiti and seen the Northern Lights,
But babe, would you meet me in Moosejaw tonight?

Well I've sailed the great ocean, and flown the great sky,
Traveled the silk road and roamed to Shanghai.
'Been to Sydney and Singapore and Old Valley High,
but I've been to Moosejaw, now I can die.

We can stroll 'round the city and say "Hi" to the cop.
See the light that says "go" and the sign that says "Stop."
We can travel the village square without any fear,
or go see a movie that came out last year.

I've seen the Big Apple and the Oracle at Delphi,
Wailed at Wailenwald, walked the Sianai.
Bought hash in Amsterdam, Golfed in Dubai,
But I've been to Moosejaw, kiss my ass goodbye.

Calgary's not finished and Montreal's broke!
Vancouver's a Hellhole, Toronto's a Joke!
Winnipeg's Freezing the whole damn year 'round!
And Regina, actually smells like it sounds!

Please come to Moosejaw if you don't believe me,
Where you'll see for miles that there's nothing to see.
Our days will be perfect our nights will be full!
And each weekend we'll go to the big Tractor Pull.

I've been Robbed blind in Rio, Jailed in Paraguai.
Scalped tickets in Bankok for "The King and I."
'Wiped my ass with the dead sea scrolls, tell you no lie,
But I've been to Moosejaw... Now I can die.

And let the outside in
Break the defenses

Water droplets
Dripping endlessly
Danger in numbers
drip, drip, drip
Let the water erode
The placed stone walls

Stinging thoughts
So gentily push
And turn to obsession
nudge, nudge, nudge
Banked fire, red seeps
Burn the wall of grass

Tears come swiftly now
Crystal water of sorrow
Falls, falls, falls
Like rain is the pretense
Hide away and escape
Till you master yourself

ink as wine to hearts already drunk
manifesto of a shattered soul
wrote for an age of complacence
the world enthralled by sarcasm

falling from the heights of mundane
I'm trying to catch on genius
as I plummet to the end
on wings of the mind
that will not take flight

only stun the weakest wills
as irridescent plumage may
I'm hiding in a maze of apathy
right next to all my friends
we all have our compartments

within our empty heads
riding out this wave, oblivious
hoping for a poetic end
I'm living through your majesty
in hopes of better things

all we really have to do
believe in what we are
leave your stupid pride behind
and love this one-time ride
I'm writing a masterpiece

that dies upon my lips...

under the dimly flickering porchlight
holding a bundle of flowers behind me

stars shining down on my shoulders
a gentle radiance guiding my eyes to yours
feeling slightly sick, just a side effect

one night, one kiss, one rose
one chance to steal your heart
and never ever give it back

finding a harmony between our heartbeats
a rhythm passionate in origin
voices blend becoming a gentle aria

gaze into each other once again
feels like im going under again
so this is the feeling of being complete
