Well, a fair number of the characters are, or can be construed as, reincarnations from the previous games.

Weekend DnD update:
1. They took the bait. They are headed to the island. 2. We fought and killed a mad scientist and then battled his creation. Imagine fighting a 20 foot troll that was immune to acid and fire. Yeah. The fighter gets credit for this "Most Badass DnD Moment" he stabbed the creature in the heart with his sword, and the had the wizard and me (wands, I always carry them.) shoot electricity across his heart while the druid ran away outside. This hurt him, but ultimately only really pissed him off. We manged to get outside were the druid had a giant storm brewing and basically smited the creature to death. The fighter had to get a new sword BTW. 3. I'm trying to get my DM to run an exalted game.

I've been thinking of starting to play, but I've never played it before. At all. I'm good with RPGs in general, and with the combined knowlege of OOTS, KOTOR, 8-bit and general popular culture, I'm sure I could get the hang of it quickly. I just have no idea how to properly connect to any DnD community, nor how to find the appropriate rulebooks.
So, while I know this is off-topic... Halp? |

FRONT KICK OF DOOM!

google d20 and "sourcebook"
You'll find all you need in regards to rulebooks. DnD wiki would be alright as well. In regards to community, I'd probably need help with that one as well. |

You can usually (attempt to) get a game started right here, it's just a question of schedules and finding someone willing to DM.

This is 3.5 edition (current edition is 4th) but people still play it. I have a lot of DMing experience and would be willing to run you through a campaign and teach you but you'd have to fit in with my mad timezones though. But if youg et an online group together it's a good way to learn. It's not nearly as good online as in person but if you don't have anyone around it can work. Edit: Re: Meister: I totally have nothing better to do with my day. Having assistants is the most amazing thing ever. Last edited by Professor Smarmiarty; 07-29-2009 at 01:54 PM. |

www.d20srd.org or www.systemreferencedocuments.org are a good start for the basic rules.
