OOC: LOL, I had the same RP here in http://forums.ffhybrid.com/index.php?showtopic=6602&st=0. It has a slightly different twist from THIS storyline here though. :P Not as messy too.
Anyway, what I want to know here is...What happened to MY character????

OOC: Nothing. He's still outside, waving his sword wildly. Thought it would be stupid to kill off someone's character when their NOT THERE! By the way, sorry about not posting. I've had a serious outbreak of "life". My docter says I may die x.x
BiC: Charcion snatched up his sword just as Notikas unleashed another blast of holy light, only to get blocked by another Ebon Gaurd. Notikas growled. "You shall FALL this day Necromancer...." Charcion sighed with relief as he felt Za'roc's familiar weight in his hands. He dimly turned to see Wind charging him. A new energy surged violently into his limbs. The doubt he had felt had turned itself into a panicked rush of adrenaline. He smiled grimly as he gritted his teeth and raised his sword to defend himself. His thoughts disappeared as only one new thing came into his head, survival. He felt Notikas trying to destroy Nezurahl, he need only fend off Wind for awhile.... OOC: Rhiya, three words. EARN. YOUR. KILL. I ain't gonna let some stray arrow ping around the castle and nick him to have him say "Blarg I am daed" and fall over.

OOC: I'd assume that what he had been doing was commanding.
Nezurahl senses the tide of the battle spin once more into chaos as Notikas attacks him and his retinue while they retreat. Seeing no other option he sends out a command to all the undead engaged in lesser conflicts: Guard me. Notikas unleashes another blast of holy light but this time a mere skeleton blocks the attack. Notikas looks around and sees zombies and skeletons closing in on him from every direction. Knowing he is still in grave danger, Nezurahl casts a whisper spell to one of the chief commanders in the castle. He succinctly decribes what will happen if he dies and then cuts off the spell. The din of the battleground is suddenly overhwelming by the sound of horns. The dark gate opens once more and the ancient castle vomits forth its might. Warriors clad in dark armour march side by side with chanting cultists leading chained horrors that gibber and snarl. Monstrosities crafted from the bones of many creatures and animated by necromantic rites tower above the rank and file, as archers armed with the necrotizing arrows march behind. Skeletal warrior-mages clad in partial robes and armour of frost float ominously a few feet above the ground, their hands and empty eye sockets crackling with baleful energies. Crawling from the winding catacombs beneath the castle come mutated humans goading long, pale, fleshy, snake-like beasts that pulse with dark power, many limbs bristling with long, flesh rending talons while overhead archers and mages ride winged nightmares dragged from the infernal planes. The rabble of undead suddenly form up into ranks and begin organised attacks upon the kngihts as the necromancers take direct control over them. All this is just a fraction of the onslaught of evil that faces the knights, threatening to bury their courage and discipline benath a tidal wave of clawing madness and terror. |

OOC: isn’t that a tad bit godmodding?
And yes, I.KNOW.THAT. I just don’t like to go about killing other characters. It dulls the whole rp, but if you really want her to kill Charcion, you can always have Notikas rip out her heart in vengeance ” BIC: Wind faltered. Even her gheas could not prevent her soul from recoiling in horror to the warped beasts that spilled out from the belly of the castle. Charcion, oblivious to them, lunged forward, seeing an opening. Wind felt the blade slide through her flimsy wind clothing, plunging deep into her stomach. Charcion’s left hand found her throat in a vice-like grip. She distantly heard her slender neck snap, and her body go limp. Even the power that bound her to her dead body was unable to face the obvious threat. She managed to squeeze some air through her mouth. “Tighten your grip. Do not let me go.” Her whispered plead was loud in Charcion’s ears. She wanted to do so much more. She wanted to save all their lives, but now she can’t. Now, she can only try to save this man’s life, this man, whom she had met but a few moments earlier on.

OOC: Not really. You get an army, the forces of darkness also get an army. I'm just trying to get across that there's more to the castle than just Nezurahl and a few minions. By the "tidal wave of clawing madness" I don't mean they have a vastly superior force, I just mean that it is a really intimidating thing to see. The castle is emptying itself and sending its full force against the knights. Its quite a desperate act really as if Nezurahl dies, one of their most powerful spell-casters will be gone and a fairly large chunk of their force would disappear too as he's the focus of quite a few of the necromatic spells. Also, they will take a while to reach the location of the characters.

OOC: Rawr. Thats a......... tough army to beat....... Might hafta get backup from Kildare on this, seeing as I control 2 guys. x.x One surronded by zombies and skeletons while the other is in the way of impending doom.
BiC: Charcion is startled as he hears Wind whisper to him. "Why are you saying this?" he growls. Wind tilts her head toward the advancing army, unable to find the air to speak. Charcion slowly turns his head. "In the name of Holy Hailfire..." he mutters, nearly speechless at the grand army before him. He quickly swivels his head back towards Wind and yanks Za'roc out of her stomach. He raises her to eye level and whispers back. "I do not know what you are planning, but I'll play along." He tightened his grip around her throat. Things were'nt going so well for Notikas. Sweat poured down his neck from his now un-armored head, as he hacked down skeleton after zombie after skeleton. After each was felled another took it's place. He took a chance and started fighting defensively, all the while prying at his power as he took ahold of his cross in his free hand. He raised it and bellowed. "FROM THE POWER WITHIN ME I SMITE THEE!!" Beams of light shot from his cross as the many of the zombies turned away and began fleeing.

BiC: All that Arthus saw was Chaos - and that he had lost his patience.
"ENOUGH!!!" The great Knight gave a mighty roar that shook the earth for over a mile away. "I will end this abomination of a Castle with my might and magic alone!" Then he raised his legendary sword, Armaggedon's Blade and pointed it towards the fortress. "Die Evil Ones!" "Arnagtus Entreri Daegnus Tempus Daeo!(Holy Judgement of the Heavens)" Words of power tumbled from the Apocalypse Knights lips, and Armaggedon's Blade burned ever brighter. Suddenly, the sky above the Castle split open to emit a great Meteor that came blazing down towards it's destination, intending to destroy everything within it's path and impact. OOC: Sorry for the short reply, but it's late now. Gotta go sleep, ya know.

She heard more bones in her neck snap and crumble beneath Charcion’s iron grip, rendering her body useless. No pain assailed her body. Not when she’s dead. Not when she’s an abomination to nature.
Still the gheas controlled her. Urged her bones to knit. To attempt to knit. If Charcion can keep his vice grip on her neck for a long enough time, it might just buy the man from his death, and buy her release from the necromancer’s power. Her gheas has already tried to force her to use magic, but without the special nerves that connected her head to the rest of her body, the flow of elemental power was cut off. Deep within her suppressed soul, she screamed, HURRY UP!

OOC: A meteor eh? Ouch. I'm going to have to whip out some serious magic to deal with that. Nezurahl's depleted right now but as I say - always have a back-up plan.
The assembled army of the knights cheer as they watch the meteor pummel its way through the air towards the sinsiter mass of the castle. Their victory was assured for what power could withstand the might of their leader, He who had summoned the wrath of the heavens to smite their enemies? Nezurahl looks skywards with surprise. So their foes would call down the fire from the heavens to try to destroy them? Thinking quickly and acting faster he takes command of the situation, calling out in a voice used to command, "Mages, to me!" while not showing his own weakness. As the rest of the castle's forces mostly mill around in confusion and fear, the castle's mages purposefully walk towards a position atop a hill surrounded by their warriors. As they walk some marshal parts of the castle's forces and order them to protect them. Guarded at the very center of the dark army, they move into a complex pattern: Nezurahl at the center with the other mages spreading out from him in order of their power. They form a circle formed of interweaving patterns that drag the eye inwards towards the middle and scratch runes of guiding and abjuration into the ground at their feet with their magic. The magic-users upon the side of the knights gasp as they guess at what is being formed before their very eyes. The mages closest to Nezurahl draw forth their power and pass threads of power to the necromancer. He threads together the mana given to him and he reaches upwards, beginning to chant a sonorous spell. The other mages join in, more strands of power weaving together into an eye-twisting dweomer. Magic builds and a nexus of power builds over the heads of the mages. As more power feeds into it and the chanting grows stronger it expands outwards, a purplish globe of pure magic that throbs with power, strands of magic from all of the mages linking into it. Tints of other colours race across its surface and a vague, huge outline of a figure can be glimpsed at, as if through thick fog. The knights wonder what foul new sorcery this is, while their mages remain silent, fearing the worst. As they watch the chanting becomes faster and louder as it reaches a crescendo before falling away to almost nothing and the magical locus stabilises, glaring like a malignant eye. The dark mages remain focused, eyes closed and hands tracing patterns in the air, as above them their spell blazes like a miniture sun. Suddenly the nexus flares and a beam of crimson lightning stabs into the sky at the meteor. Everyone is rocked by a huge explosion, the force of which is like a hammer stroke, and for several dreadful seconds it appears as if the entire battlefield had been stained red with blood. In the aftermath there are cheers from the knights that swiftly turn to cries of alarm while the dark army is filled with vicisous jubilation. The terrrible spell-bolt hurled by the castle's mages had not destroyed the meteor. It had deflected it. Right towards the heart of the noble knights' forces... OOC: Now, basically what the castle mages did was use circle magic to pool their power. Its extremely rare and dangerous as its prone to being disrupted but can be quite potent. However, the mages will be able to defend themselves with the nexus's magic. If its disrupted there can be horrible consequences and the bonds are only as strong as the weakest link. As for how Nezurahl had lead the spell while so the low on magic, the answer is simple - he acted as the conduit for the spell, and drew upon it for power.
