Just started playing again, cruising around Santa Monica doing sidequests. I'm thinking of doing some kind of comedy updates to give people something to read while I go through the whole game again. Like, bloopers or Helen as a Malkavian or something like that.

Anyway, playing through the game now!

OCEAN HOUSE

It has been three days, five hours, twenty four minutes and eleven seconds since the world decided it would like to go crazy. It said 'Hi, Helen. Fuck you.' and started spewing crazy out of its asshole.

On a related note, I'm a vampire.

Not just any vampire, apparently. I'm one of the bad vampires. One of the mean vampires. The kind of vampire that all the other little vampires tense up at the sight of because they don't know if I'm going to spaz out and eat their face off.

That's the impression I get, anyway. I haven't been a vampire very long. Captain Smelly Biker the Pirate told me that it isn't often a sane person gets chosen to be one of the ultra super badass vampires, and I've probably got a few days before I start smearing my shit on my apartment walls and drooling into a bucket.

I'm not sure if I've got that long, though.

The anchor on the ten o'clock news told me a story last night. When I say that, I mean he told me a story. Addressed me by name and everything. He also said the cops know I was the one who butchered the drug dealers down by the beach house.

He screamed when I turned off the TV.

But yeah, here I am. No money, no boys, but a lot of whispers in my ear and some of them can be pretty nosey. You know who you are.

Anyway, I'm not just wandering around looking for blood or hookers or whatever vampires are supposed to look for, I'm on a mission. I'm on a mission because I'm one of the those scary evil vampires that everyone else is afraid of. I think I went over that.

I'm supposed to find a Sabbat warehouse and blow it back to warehouse hell with some astrolite I stole from some drug dealers who stole it from a dead guy I know. Dying guy. Was dying. He's fine now. If you don't know who the Sabbat are, well, join the club. I've got no fucking clue, but they're pretty bad, I think? The whispers don't seem to like them any.

In order to do that, though, I need to find a guy who knows where it is. Tung is a guy who knows where it is, but I don't know where Tung is. I don't know where Tung is because he's hiding. He's hiding because of Therese. Therese runs this creepy nightclub called the Asylum, and I'm going to visit Therese to see what's up with scaring Tung into hiding because that makes it really hard to find people when they go hiding.

As soon as I walk in, I meet Therese's sister, Jeanette. I think she likes me. The voices like her too, I... think. They call her Janus, so I call her Janus too. She thinks it's pretty funny.

I don't get it.

She talks steamy to me for a bit before leaving on club business. Typical neo-goth hot topic club, seems like.

Wait...

That noise... that... sound...

I must dance.

Part of me feels a great shame.

I don't know who the greek goddess of dance was, but it doesn't matter, because now it's me.

After I've had enough dancing, I head upstairs to visit Therese. I do not like Therese's name.

I would not like it on a plane.

I would not like it in the rain. Therese and Jeanette are arguing about whatever it is angry sisters argue about. The voices are whispering the details but I don't really care. I have noticed something far, far more important.

I grab the ring and sit on the end table, pulling my knees up to my chest.

But they were all of them deceived

I must keep it secret. I must keep it safe.

The door opens and a woman in a suit dress asks me what I'm doing. I tell her that for her own safety she must never know. She asks if I am one of 'those' vampires.

I tell her she ought to know.

She asks what I want and I tell her to leave Tung alone. She says she will, if I do a favor. I agree, without asking what the favor is. The voices criticize this as unwise, but they're probably evil voices anyway.

I am in the sewer because Therese wants me to go to the Ocean House Hotel. The hotel is haunted, and if I find an object the ghost holds dear, she can use it to banish the spirit forever. There is a road that leads to Ocean House, but I am taking the sewer because Therese is stupid.

I climb out of the manhole into the hotel's front lawn, mostly dirt and construction vehicles.

There is a darkness here, and evil that pushes away even the whispers of the voices. In my head their is only empty silence.

"You are a very spooky house!" I yell up to the battlement like entrance.

"Thank you." The booming voice responds. "I am Ocean House."

"You have a..." I pause before the image comes to me. "...a medallian in you. Can I have it?"

A long pause from the house, a lot of unsure grunting.

"I don't know." It finally says. "What will you give me?"

"I will be your best friend forever." I reply.

"Hmm. Yes. This pleases Ocean House."

A window in the upper story shatters, and a medallian is launched from it like a cannon ball at my feet. I reach down and snatch it up.

"Thank you, Ocean House! You are a very good friend."

"I am Ocean House." The building replies.

I'll have to ask him to dinner sometime.

He's certainly nicer than the stupid can't even talk Asylum nightclub.

Jeanette is waiting for me inside instead of Therese. I don't give her the one ring, and I don't give her the medallian either. This upsets her, and she cries. She cries a great deal.

I agree to slash some... slash... do... something... for... ah...
