Did Sarda become the nexus?
Sarda absorbed Black Mage's super-evil, and soon thereafter Chaos popped out of him. Is that because Sarda usurped the role of nexus from Black Mage by absorbing the evil?
Forgive me if I'm way behind on realizing this, but I didn't see it mentioned elsewhere.

That's not very likely. Trust me, I know bogus science, the the chances of Sarda becoming the nexus by absorbing Black Mage's powers are 1 to another one with an amount of zeros that isn't even perceivable for living things. Or the dead.
It's simple math. Black Mage = Nexus To become the Nexus, you must become Black Mage And Sarda wouldn't want that. Maybe Black Mage will Diabolus Ex Machina the real Chaos out of himself any second now. Who knows.

Don't think so. Black Mage himself didn't get the evil energies Sarda absorbed from the nexus, but absorbed them from the Fiends and his doppelganger. The nexus itself had nothing to do with that as I understand it, it just allowed him to become a Blue Mage but I'm pretty sure Sarda didn't absorb anything about that either, but simply de-leveled him enough so he wasn't one anymore.
What I guess happened with Sarda is that the magical energies of - the four mystical orbs that held together the fabric of the world - the evil energies of a supercharged Black Mage doppelganger and four legendary demonic entities - and every spell ever all concentrated in one place (Sarda's body) simply proved too much for the fabric of reality and Chaos broke through. |

BM should still be the nexus, albeit one who can barely use any magic anymore.

wut?
Didn't Chaos already arrive through BM? Bm unleashed his power, right? That power merged with Sarda's power. Sarda was engulfed by BM's power and aChaos emerged. It's still all BM. Even if Sarda's body was kinda tangled in the Nexus, BM is still the nexus of power through which Chaos emerged.

.....This brings up the very awkward question of whether I'm inside him or not.
