PSP
Just got myself a PSP...
Anyone have any ideas what I'm supposed to do with it? Er... Specifically, other than playing games, I mean. Of course. Modding suggestions, 'Apps' and the like, as they say?

Break the hell out of it. As soon as you have that thing running SNES9x and the original Doom, the better.
All half-joking aside, PSP Video 9 is nifty if you have the flash-memory space for videos you feel like carrying with you. I have some of the better Meet the Team videos on there just in case, and it's also kinda nice to carry a bit of music on. Flash memory is getting so cheap these days you can get an 8 gig easy. Also - get a shell case, I think Logitech makes them. I have cracked two PSP screens in my time, and it costs a hundred to repair them but only twenty for a case.

Now i'm not sure if talking about THAT is against forum rules...
so, untill further notice i'll talk about PSP cases! And, yeah, a case is your best friend right now... and they are cheap. You can get than for $20 like Mirai said, or you can even cheapen that out and get then for like $5 These silicon ones are $1,99 but they won't protect your screen... And there is also these transparent ones that go for under $3 Sure, you can find better stuff by looking around a bit, but it's very cheap stuff that can save you a LOT of cash, and protect your new psp, so it's something you should do. |

There are, supposedly, ways around this, but it sounds so damned inconvenient. Quote:
This probably sounds like me being an ass, but I didn't see any "Yes, but before you do this, there are downsides and here is what they are", and I think people who want to mod their PSP should know what they're getting themselves into.

Yeah it took me a few hours to figure out how to get Soul Calibur Broken Destiny working because they had a countereffect on my homebrew firmware. It wouldn't load the game at all. I got a workaround but it was a pain.

aw, shucks. And I did not know that about the firmware-not-playing games thing. Thanks for the tip.
