Need moar...manga?
Alright guys I am in a bit of a conundrum.
I need a new series to read. I've powered through Death Note, am patiently awaiting my new Bleach books and am pacing back and forth waiting for the next compilation of FMA. In short, I need a new series to sink my teeth into. Preferably humorous. I've consumed my fill on dark and gothic thanks to the works of Bleach and Death Note. Help me NPF, you're my only hope. |

Bakuman's by the team who made Death Note. It's about a high-school artist/writer team trying to make the most popular comic in Japan. It's my favorite comic right now.
Hayate the Combat Butler is rather funny. It's also not the fan-service wankfest that the anime makes it out to be. Give the comic a try. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - Guren Gakuenhen, a.k.a Gurren Highschool, is probably a good choice if you liked Gurren Lagann. If you want things that are funny and finished, there's Girls Saurus (which is a fan-service wankfest), which is about a guy terrified of women, thus giving him a better excuse than most harem leads for not hooking up with any of the girls. There's a sequel series, but it's just more of the same. You could try Tokage Ouji, a comedy shoujo about a prince who was transformed into a lizard. It's pretty short. I thought it was funny. Living Game is a fairly long manga that's about the trials of a guy beginning with his company's new office building being unusable. So, Bakuman, Hayate no Gotoku, Gurren Highschool, Girls Saurus (you can keep going to Girls Saurus DX if you want), Tokage Ouji, and Living Game. All comedies that I'm reading or have read, only one of which is completely and consistently NSFW.

D. Gray-man might be a good pick assuming you aren't totally banning gothic vibe. It has the spiritual aspect of Bleach (they are called exorsists after all) but setting wise is more of a FMA type deal.
Depends alot on how much comedy based you want. I personally find Chibi Vampire and Rosario + Vampire very humorous, although they are abit shojo and fan service heavy respectively. Though all worth it to hear a guy whining "I'm not food". Also try Full Metal Panic, and Full Metal Panic Overload if you really want more craziness. Great way to see the Japanese version of tin-foil hat gun nut. And by tin-hat, I mean he thinks EVERYTHING is a combat scenario. Sure you know the old cliche of 'note in the shoe locker' well he said it was "tampered with" and since it was too large to move the safest form of disposal was to detonate a small explosive inside it. Another time he thought the best way to keep the festival "safe and secure" was to plant land mines in random locations.

Eyeshield 21 is about as awesome as awesome can get. Katekyo Hitman Reborn! is pretty good as well. Change 123 and Franken Fran are also wonderful reads. If you like the Big 3 (Naruto, One Piece, and BLEACH) then you should read Psyren and Fairy Tail as well. Also, Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro!!!!

Vampire Game and Demon Diary. They are definately must-reads. Especially Demon Diary, it's quite hilarious, and I think you would like it Mac.

Do you want something that's quite a ways away from what you've been reading? I suggest Yotsuba&!, by the author of Azumanga Daioh, which is full of innocence and hilarity. If you liked Radical Edward on Cowboy Bebop, you'll probably like Yotsuba.
What's with all the vampires in the thread O_O.

I already suggested that! He read it! Unless he was lying to me...You didn't lie to me, right Mac? RIGHT?! I guess if you're looking for something really light-hearted you could try the Hidamari Sketch Manga, or, hell, Azumanga Daioh since you seemed to like Yotsubato so much.
