Archer and Armstrong vs. the World

Would a nobleman of medieval Persia fight to the music of Godsmack? After Warrior Within, I don't think we expect Prince of Persia to be anything BUT anachronistic.
I also think the partner swooping down to save you if you fall seems way too obvious as opposed to a dagger that reversed time, and leads to plot holes. I mean, if she can swoop down and return you to the ledge you leaped from, why can't she just fly you across the gap? I'm not saying they should've repeated a time-shifting dagger, but surely something could be come up with to both provide an experience that doesn't seem to punish you for jumps but also fits into the scheme of things more seamlessly (even if it's extremely numerous and generous checkpoints or something).

They totally should have repeated a time-shifting dagger because Sands of Time and Two Thrones were awesome games, and Warrior Within was above average.
...This looks pretty good too, I guess.
