i made this thread because no one else has.

This thread is for discussing anythign to do with the British sci-fi show Doctor Who. I understand it would probably be a bit obscure for NPF, but try to discuss it.

and for future reference, it is not an anime in any form.

EDIT: Discussion of spinoffs is also allowed

Er, to the best of my knowledge, he doesn't exist yet. Isn't the next special supposed to be out in November?

Well, last I heard was that that there was two doctors, and one would be black, but I don't know if that was true or not.

New logo is nifty.

I actually dig the retro style of the 11th Doctor.

Apparently the new TARDIS is going to be in the style of the Cushing DW movies.

All is well and good, and I cannot wait for Waters of Mars.

We actually have a surprisingly strong contingent of Whovians around here. I'd say Regulus Tera's more of a Modern Whovian--he can stand the RTD-penned stuff where I get irritated by it--and I'm definitely more of an Orthodox Whovian (nothing past the first Eight, please, unless the Eleventh Doctor turns out to be really, really awesome). We certainly know enough about the Whoniverse and its various inhabitants to have not one, but two pages devoted to it on our community's ultimately very not-serious wiki, Nuklearpedia. We could always use a bit of help updating either of those

So, to keep the conversation going: Who's your favorite Doctor? Your favorite assistant? I'm rather partial to the Third and Fourth Doctors, myself, and while I kind of enjoy stories with Liz Shaw and Jo Grant and Sarah Jane Smith, I think I like Leela of the Sevateem and Romana I the best. (Ive just never been as impressed with II.) I always like it best when the Doctor's assistant is as not-helpless as possible.

To answer earlier questions, 11th Doctor stuff hasn't come out yet. There are two more specials with the 10th Doctor, one on 15 November,. the other scheduled for Christmas.
Matt Smith is new Doctor, starting from (British) spring next year.
