Webcomic: Rusty Hard Drive
Rusty Hard Drive is a sprite comic about me and my friends being traped in the world of video games. We have one week of comics finished so far, and I am hoping to get some comments about what we have done and what people think of the concept. You can find us at www.rustyharddrive.com. I am in the process of setting up a forum there so I can get feedback, plus I will be checking back here as well. You can also reach me at mknzy[at]rustyharddrive[dot]com. I appreciate the feedback in advance.

Well, it doesn't look like much has gone on. Maybe wait a bit for it to turn good, as good is not what it is now.

I will admit that most of what the first 3 comics has been is setting up the concept. I appreciate that you are willing to give me some more time to get things going with the story. We have the first 35 or so comics scripted and once we get to the first game world things defidently pick up.
I do want to note that I am not necessarily trying to make this into just a funny comic. Yes I want to have humor in there, and I want each page to be able to stand alone, but overall I am planning it to be one big cohesive story. I think we have a good concept, so please be patient with me. |

Your sprites are kinda uneven in style. And you have so many sprites in the begining it makes my headspin. 15? Wow. Good luck with you charcters, you'll need it.

I know what you mean. Ultimatly we are going to be split into 4 teams so it wont be as overwhelming. However it helps that all the characters are based off of my real life friends, so writing for them isnt that hard.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, we are updating on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule. Last edited by M'k'n'zy; 12-17-2006 at 01:14 AM. |

I suggest making your own sprites, It's alot more rewarding than using others as yourselves. The Charas-Project is good, and overly easy, for making RPG sprites which are more original.

I had considered doing that at first, but part of the idea with deciding to use sprites of characters that already exist was the possible story options we could have when visiting our characters worlds of origin. We thought it could very easily lead to some interesting encounters.
