Vera Chapter 4: Issues

ooc-Mr. V, there, I set up the scenario for you. The rest of you...well, you decide what to do. If you think it's boring now don't worry, pretty soon there'll be action. I just haven't finished typing the whole event out.

It had started a few years ago, a disease that, while popping up only occasionally, was deadly. No cure had been found, and there was no apparent way to prevent the acquiring of the sickness, as none knew how it spread. The only thing known was that it drove people crazy, and then they just simply went dead.

All they could do was put the sick in a room, and hope they could survive. For the most part they didn't, and this is why Feol never liked going into the rooms that kept them. Everything was so full of...death. The air, the ground, the people...it was so rare to find one alive.

However, despite the chances of one being alive, he had to check in on them, for noone else would. As the Academy's Master, it had become his unofficial duty to do so.

Night had fallen and everyone was somewhere, dealing in their own way with today's events. Most of the students had gone to their beds, Retsa was in her office thinking, teachers were off doing their thing, and Toma was in his isolated classroom still fuming.

Speaking of Toma...

"Idiots...all of them. How dare they compare him to me?" He slammed his fist against the wall. "I'm not going to make the same mistake as that guy!"

At that point the door behind him opened. "There you are. I've been looking all over for you."

Toma turned to face the newcomer, and when he realized who it was he snarled. "You. What are you doing here?"

"I wanted to apologize."

"Apology not accepted. Now go."

"..."

Jason cocked an eyebrow at the man as he entered the room. "Look, I never meant to make you this angry. If you knew me better, you'd know that I tend to have an explosive temper at times, and that was an unfortunate moment." But now, it looks like you're the one with the anger management problem now, Jason thought as he saw Toma's angry expression. Looks like I'm on rough waters now. I'd better tread carefully.

"I've never seen you before, Toma, but I came to apologize for my rash actions, and you'd be wise to accept that apology. Will you forgive me?" He asked as he put out his right hand, hoping for Toma to forget his ego and accept his apology.

He turned to see Rena sitting rather melancholically (as she always seemed to be) on a large piece of the ceiling

Like Toma would do such a thing. For some reason the teenager was a very unforgiving person. "I am busy and do not like being distracted when I'm supposed to be making important observations about my specimen. Unlike Ueleg, I take precautions, and observe my subject carefully before going directly into the experiment. That means I also can't be disturbed.

"In short, shut up and go away, unless you want to you want to end up like the cafeteria. Also, no, I'm in no mood to be forgiving anyone."

If anything could surprise Jason any further, that would be it. So he's gonna play the arrogant, all-powerful wizard/scientist. No wonder I've never met him before, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy anybody would want to be around. Well, I tried...plus, I certainly doubt he could take me down with the ease he's suggesting. I'd better let the boy brood for a while.

Jason withdrew his hand, folded his arms, and said in a serious tone: "So you want to be left alone, I respect that. However, I'd advise that you show me some respect in return and listen to this: you aren't the only kid in this place, so don't be so quick to judge others. Perhaps you'd have more friends if you did."

He turned around and moved to the door. He opened it, and before he left, he said this: "You may be uptight and lonely, but I'll be there to watch your back if you need it." He closed the door, and walked off to the rubble that the academy called the cafeteria.

Everyone needs a friend. Maybe that's what's causing him to be such a jerk...

Kith, in the meanwhile, was laying in his bed staring at the ceiling quietly. He had tried to go to sleep but couldn't, partly because he had slept so much earlier that day, and partly because of what he had heard. 'The hidden power of demons? That's what happened to Ueleg? I wish I understood better... I wish someone would explain it to me. It blew up part of my home. Ueleg said he couldn't control it... I wonder what it all means.' Kith let out a slight sigh and slid out of his bed. 'Well... thinking about it isn't helping... guess I'll go get something to eat.' About halfway to his door, however, Kith stopped and rolled his eyes. "I'm such an idiot... the cafeteria is gone, and they haven't set up a temporary one yet... guess I'll be going to eat in town." He turned back into his room and grabbed a small, and light, money pouch, attaching it to his belt, before leaving his room.

(OOC: There's an easy way to save an RP like this... the TIME WARP! If no one posts for a long enough time, just have a few hours pass, or if it's ok with Ecurt, a few days... so that someone has something to do...)
