Add on or not to add on? That is the question!
I wasn't sure if a topic like this has been made, but even if there has, this subject is bound to be updated from time to time anyway by its nature.
So, from time to time I feel the need to go add-on hunting for Firefox 3, and I am never disapointed at the quality and quantity of the add-ons. So, what are your favorite add-ons on fire fox and why? I'm a big fan of the Speed dial. I'm more of a visual searcher and I really dislike using the bookmarks bar because it is easy for me to look over the site I'm looking for. Speed dial makes it easier for me to spot what I need. I recently downloaded some mouse gestures, which are quite fun and easy to use I must say. So, what say you? |

Adblock Plus.
NoScript. IE Tab. Dictionaries. Webmail Notifier. Download Statusbar. Greasemonkey. DownThemAll. That is all.

NoScript
Adblock Plus Foxytunes Linkification QTL (Quick Translate) Foxclocks Cooliris Previews IE Tab Spanish Spellchecker I think that's all, but I may have missed them. I keep meaning to look at DownThemAll, but I seldom run into problems which it would fix. |

On top of AdBlock Plus, NoScript, and Download Statusbar, I also like Morning Coffee (it helps you keep track of the websites you visit regularly) and ColorfulTabs (every tab is given a different color so you can tell them apart by sight). Depending on how often you visit places like weblogs and messageboards, you may also find the BBCode addon useful. It'll give you a bunch of formatting options in the reply box when you click on the "other" mouse button (I guess for most people that's the left button).
I only wish there was an upgrade for the Firesomething add-on. I didn't have it for very long, but I liked it. edit: The more I think about it, the more I think this is more of a Computer Help sort of thread, so I'm gonna move it.

Shouldn't it be Computer Hardware and Software? Subforum's kind of unclear now.
I usually go add-on free. Ad Aware, Spybot S+D, and AVG keep my computer pretty clear. AVG has a bar that lets me know if I'm going right into Big Site O Infection, but otherwise that's it. Been thinking about getting that BBCode addon. I visit quite few forums (Though, besides NPF, it's usually for fighting game stuff >.>).

Firebug - If you're interested in Web Development, Firebug is handy as it enables one's self to debug and navigate through web code.
FireNes - The ability to play NES games through Firefox also amuses me to no end. Last edited by Corel; 11-28-2008 at 11:37 AM. |
