How can Squeenix fix itself?

I've been thinking a lot about this, and I even saw the buried thread about the order to not do anything not bearing the FF or KH name. This has gotten me wondering how they can stop screwing themselves up the anal cavity with a 10-foot dildo made of coarse iron. I think they need to focus on putting one or two REALLY GOOD games out a year instead of several merely passable works. Instead of letting Nomura have his way with his Orgy of Overrated Final Fantasy, take some control away from ZipperKing. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STOP WITH THE GODDAMN J-POP SONGS. And transforming summons? NO NO NO, Square, no no NO! That's not innovating, that's making me think how much cooler FFXIII would be if Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and crew showed up to fight off the monsters. FFXIII also didn't need to be 3 games, and that's probably taxing resources even more.

I also liked Kingdom Hearts before it became less Disney and more animu/Final Fantasy. But the point stands that they need to do SOMETHING. The last hope for a non-mainstream game of theirs succeeding is SO4, and if that bombs, I fear we'll be DROWNING in the Final Fantasy name.

Thoughts? Opinions? Bitch fests?

Enix > Square (I'm aware of the hypocrisy)

EDIT: Giving me more Chrono Break would be nice. It's the only reason I bought Chrono Trigger again for the DS.

Ugh, no. After Cross and CTDS, I don't trust S-E anywhere near the Chrono franchise anymore. I'd rather they just let it die at this point.

Quit adding the Squarenix tax to their DS games. I'm through paying 40 dollars for their games when all the other games are only 30 dollars, ESPECIALLY remakes of games I've played a thousand times. That is why I will not be purchasing Chrono Trigger DS until it drops in price or I can order it from someplace at the normal price.

Oddly enough, J-Pop songs seem slightly more fitting to the Chrono universe than your average Final Fantasy...but what do I know? Apparently not as much as whoever came up with Final Fantasy X-2.

My god people, stop wishing Square was Indie...

Am i the only one who thinks Square is not broken? i mean... do i hear you people yelling to the fact that Bungie only does Halo and Harmonix only does Guitar games and Rockstar only does GTA, and EA only does sports....?

Every major company has a main line of products... that's why they are major. they all produce several other games that are "Like" their main line, but with new things in the middle, and if those games succed, they become new series that slowly make the second tier of products of that company's portfolio...

C'mon, it's not hard to get that...

Sure, we all have our gripes with Final Fantasy... we have our gripes with ALL main series of games... but overall, they do the job. They produce High quality software that's fun and pleases the majority of their fanbase. We all have one "Favourite Final Fantasy". I dont know a single person who played then all and went "I never liked any of these. i played, and hated" There is no such thing! Some of us like 6, other think 5 was the best one... others love 7, other 8, some like 9, some 10, a few of us even play 11, and other like 12 best...

Square gives us good gameplay, good innovations, good stories, good music, good replay value and at least most of the times, good art and design... it has ups and downs...

what the hell would you expect from 20 years in the market?

And charge $200 for each game right? You're ranting without logic... if they dont try several games they cant try new things, new brands, new teams and they dont make money... they keep the same overall quality on all their projects. having less projects wont change that. It will only make the games come out earlier and make less money for the company.

You're complaining about art. Visuals. If you're too trapped into graphics to discuss quaility over Squeenis work, then you're not paying attention... If you're not talking about Art design, then, i have no clue on what are you complaining about...

Japanese company making japanese games for the japanese market... not gonna happen. If they made FF taking songs aimed for the UK market, we would have Bono, if they aimed the US market, you would have Akon...

You're complaing about a design choice we dont have details about on a game you havent played and most of us know nothing about... it's pointless... you dont like the Design. Fine. That dosent mean it's bad... it only means that so far, you're not onboard..

Not if you have been paying attention. As 3 different teams are working on the games and they are trying something new with this. Instead of pushing sequels (which got mixed opinions) they are trying to use the same Mythology to tell 3 different tales... Final Fantasy Versus XIII is as much for FInal Fantasy XIII as Vagrant Story was to Final Fantasy Tactics (which leaded to the "Ivalice Alliance" games)
