EDIT: On the radio station I listened to when I lived out near San Diego... they had him on last week and asked him about that... he was extremely evasive. Now they're basically claming credit for figuring that he was going to do it before Conan.

Best news of the day! Man, Anchorman is still so weirdly, surprisingly good. Like it was an average, watchable comedy in the stupid guys doing stupid things tradition at first, but it keeps growing in depth and humor with every subsequent viewing, at least the first 10-15 times.

Yeah, I figured the reason they had said they were never going to make a sequel to Anchorman was so they could maintain it totally unsullied as the one example of a good movie starring Will Ferrel.
