Movies Star Trek Movie not about Gary Mitchell: Might still be about Gary Mitchell
Also; Alice Eve plays Dr. Carol Marcus instead of less important character 'blonde girl from the one episode with Gary Mitchell'.

Benedict Cumberbatch's ostensible terrorist role in 'Star Trek Into Darkness Without A Colon' is named John Harrison which, as has been observed by numerous bloggers, is a much more boring name than Benedict Cumberbatch.

Obviously Carol Marcus being in the movie and some imagery used in the trailer indicate we might be headed into 'Search for Spock' territory, but seeing as we're still kind of supposed to be watching stuff before the 5 year mission of 2265-to-2270, if that even happens, Muppet-Baby Kirk and Company clearly have other things to do.

Not only am I disappointed that Alice Eve isn't playing girl from that episode with Gary Mitchell in favor of the obvious role of Nurse Chapel, I'm doubly disappointed that she's not playing Nurse Chapel in favor of Carol Marcus.

Can we just have Star Trek movies that don't involve a bunch of people demanding some amount of Wrath of Khan dickriding?

I think they might be conflating a role that fulfills the same purpose as Khan with actually being Khan.

EDIT: Oh, god, no. Comicbookmovie.com? You can't trust that site. Believe me, I lived through two years of Dark Knight Rises "villain confirmations" from those people from "people close to the production". They ranged the gamut from The Riddler to Killer Croc.
