Depends in my opinion. After all, the first Matrix movie was essentially anime in live action form, and it kicked ass.

In my personal opinion it depends on WHICH anime you are talking about, and it also depends on the competence of the person/people making it. An Eva live action might actually do decently, depending on how it's done. The cast certainly fits the roles as far as appearance, and their acting talents are good, though I question whether hilary will be good at playing someone with such a *cough* nagging, annoying, self centered, vain persona as asuka does.

As far as Daniel playing Shinji, I would say it is likely he would do well. It really is not THAT different from the potter role to some degree, although more like how potter is while hes at home during the summer. I think he could do a good job though.

I am rather worried about if someone could play Rei worth crap though. They would have to act emotionless, mechanical, and logical, which is something it is VERY hard to act like and be convincing. I have only once or twice ever seen a live action movie with such a character portrayed well. We are talking totally cold and metallic, not Star Trek Data's inquisitive and curious personality.

I could see some other Animes possibly be live action. .Hack//SIGN could be done live. So could Outlaw Star, MAYBE, though not necessarily(heck, probably not). Eva is a good choice. DBZ MAYBE could be done better, but it's such a stereotype that it would have to be a genius director in order to not have it become a total joke like the current existing one. Escaflowne could probably be a good movie. Rurouni Kenshin probably could be done well, maybe, as well as Perhaps Gundam Wing or such.

Mainly, action-containing movies could be done, but totally social realistic ones would just make it boring(.hack is the closest they could go to social centered anime and have it be doable without becoming stupid).

I would love to see an anime based movie cause i dont want my series to end but unfourtunately all anime based movies pretty much suck. So no. I would enjoy seeing it if these movies were, oh I dont know, good.

oh and uh fox bought the rights to a dbz movie a couple of years ago along with ninja scroll and there was already a crappy dragon ball movie. And there was a gundam movie it was perhaps a decent B movie.
