Simon... his voice is pretty much spot on.

Kamina... well... I think he would have been perfect except for the high pitch squeal he adds to some of his lines. He nails some lines and then that squeak ruins the rest.

Goddammit, now I'm in a predicament. Should I buy the episodes from there or wait for the individual DVD releases like I've been doing up until now? I mean, I already have the series in my iPod (and with Spanish subtitles, yay!) and I don't even like the dub, but I want to support it.

And that's without even counting that I also plan to buy the boxset whenever it's ready.

...there's quite a weird remix of Sora Iro Days available if you type "Gurren Lagann" in the iTunes search box. Should I download it? It sounds like a vocaloid.

So, somebody mentioned in the last thread that they didn't want Johnny Yong Bosch doing the dub (Okay, they said something like "that Power Ranger," but still). Well, I started digging around Wikipedia, and came across this link, with the following inside:

I personally am excited, but I know a lot of people don't like him. Looking through the the other VAs listed in the article, Rukia's VA from Bleach, Starfire from Teen Titans, adult Gohan from DBZ, and one of the original writers for MMPR are doing some of the other major characters.

I'm a sucker for name recognition, so I'm excited. My faith in the dub is actually much greater than before.

well I have no issue with him, but the whole thing is what voice works with the character. Few people can pull off a wide enough range that they would work for nearly any character. I have trouble thinking he would be a good Rossiu

I think I'm going to cry. I HATE HATE HATEHATEHATE Kamina's voice. I'm watching the episode online, and the voice does not match. Not even a little. Nonononono!

It bothers me. A lot.

EDIT: Just call him Simon instead of... well... Simon. When an English person says it, it just sounds silly.

I'm glad it's not just me. I can't really place how it's any different, but it just doesn't fit.

Anyways, I just like the fact that I can watch the battles on a true screen now. And at least they kept the in-episode music.

Ok, so Simon sounds pretty good, Kamina is hit-or-miss(He sounds more hammish than epic), and Yoko seems alright.

At first I didn't think the opening was sped up, but then I saw the "whothehelldoyouthinkiam", and figured out which opening was sped up. :/

The molenado was awesome.
