I always felt bad for Rossiu. First off because he's one of the few characters who goes out of his way to consider the most rational course of action in a universe where idealism is king, and then a lot of the fanbase hates him which makes me pity him even more.

Yea he is one of those characters that takes the practicle course of action, and in the real world would work great. Unfortunately for him, he is in a story, therefor one in a million plans are garenteed to succeed and save everyone, while his more logical and rational plan is obviously going to fail.

Especially since he was supposed to be the guy that has the burden of making the tough choices while everyone else was the risk taking hero that in the real world probably would have gotten everyone killed. Unfortunately the fans always hate someone like that.

Yeah, but a big piece of the fanbase also hates the ending and the third arc completely. We already should know the fanbase knows shit. :/

whats wrong with the ending? It was complete, tied up all the loose ends, humanity was alive and well. It was one of the best anime endings I have seen, granted that isn't saying much.

Probably because they wanted the alternate ending shown in episode one where they go to war with the universe

It's mostly that I don't agree with his choices. I don't think they make sense because if you look at them they are short term solutions at best. He is also a jerk. Period. Sending the man who save mankind and is currently the only person capable of breaking through the Anti-Spiral's shields for the sake of making an idiot populace happy till the next thing goes wrong as a result of what you just did is stupid and assholish.

Exactly.

Also because Nia died. I was pissed off by that, but it was inevitable, really. It only makes the ending more bittersweet.

I miss Nia.

Really? Did he enjoy locking Simon up? I can understand not agreeing with him, but don't accuse him of assholieness just because he has to make a decision based on present circumstances and isn't capable of precognition. He has a brain wired wrong for the series he lives in, that's punishment enough.

In my opinion doing the wrong thing when you SHOULD know it's wrong qualifies you as a jerk, even if you don't enjoy it.
