Sheik's speed is quite good, but you have to train with him/her for sometime before being able to turn it into an advantage. Oh, by the way, please don't say "caricture." It disturbs me greatly as a writer. :fighter:

Or perhaps, it's all just a glitch in the matrix, and that Sheik is really a metaphor for Zelda's animus, in a world where a dying man lives through milk and a little boy can wear a dress and nobody really notices. You've got to free your mind, Malon, And I can show you how far the rabbit hole really goes. It kinda leads to a alternate world where we're all the same yet differently named and giants that look like they were ripped straight from popeye rule.

Come to think of it, How come no one's ever asked about Link's gender? He's more genderly ambiguous (If those words don't mean what I think them to, I blame 3:19 in the morning.) than Pat from SNL. Sure, Link supposedly grows up into a guy, yet he wears stockings and has earings. And Link still has the skirt. You can call it a kilt, but it's not even plaid. Link's hair is probably really long under that hood, And his elvish ears don't help (Legolas, anyone?)

It'd explain why he's so close to Princess Zelda, yet not related, even after many generations and reincarnations.

See, our society has all of these things associated with certain genders that really don't have anything to do with them. You can't apply them across societies because they don't mean the same things. If you look at the screenshots for Twilight Princess, you'll note that the green tunic covers the mail underneath. That's why it's so long - it's practical. Can you tell me he really looks feminine in the following pic?

God, I need that game.

Besides, in a serious discussion it's pretty clear: Sheik is Zelda in disguise, thus, Sheik is a chick. I think that was the whole point of it, surprising the player by showing that badass ninja is, in fact, a woman. Kinda like Samus Aran at the end of the first Metroid game. And not only a woman, but Princess Zelda to boot. I'm totally not gonna spoilertag that Samus bit. There has to be a line somewhere.

He's got A BIG SWORD. And a not so big one. And a shield, and an assload of other crap he'd never be able to carry. But we'll focus on just the BIG SWORD. You don't question the gender of a man with A BIG SWORD, unless you're looking to become genderless. Its a fact.

Also, he lacks even the hint of boobies. ^^
