Guess no one likes the current set-up of the snagger. ^^;

Slayers: Geminex, Dauntasa

Trainers: Bard, Menarker, Dracorion

Poke'brids: Naqel, Dante, Wizardcat

Snaggers: --None--

Well, it's basically Trainer except you can only have two Pokemon and they fucking hate you and will attack you if they possibly can.

I know for some of you, it's a little late, but in the interest of helping you guys out (and for bragging rights), I submit this element type calculator that tells you the total number of weaknesses, resistances and immunities in your chosen group. Just input the elements of the pokemons you're using and there ya go. Keep in mind that some of these may be subject to change if the pokemon you're using has a move or ability that grants immunity or resistance or if a foe uses a move to remove your resistance, such as Foresight to make normal moves and fighting moves hit ghost types. I guess if you want to make any changes to your teams after you use this thing, it might not be too late.

http://www.psypokes.com/dex/typeanalysis.php

As an example, I'll use my pokemon team so you guys can follow along with the example if you're stuck.

1: Normal/Flying (Togekiss)
2: Water/Ground (Swampert)
3: Electric/Steel (Magnezone)
4: Dark/None (Umbreon only has one element)

After calculating this team, it told me that I got two pokemons with quad weakpoints (moves with both types weak against the same move type used), pointing at grass and ground. This would be Swampert and Magnezone respectively. Keeping that in mind, I note that water types learn ice type moves pretty easily. So in a pinch if I got no one else, I can use that as a counter. Similarly for Magnezone who can use Magnet Rise making him immune to Ground. So in essence, I got 2 quad weaknesses, one if I use Magnet Rise, but both I got measures to deal with.

For basic weakpoints, I got the following weakpoints... 1 Rock, 1 Ice, 1 Fire, 2 Fighting, 1 Electric. The most potentially worrisome aspect is that the rock, ice and electric one all belong to Togekiss, meaning some protective/defensive measure must be taken in account. Fortunate that he has a pretty good defence to help deal with 3 weak points. Magnezone got two weaknesses as well with fighting and fire. And lastly, Umbreon has a fighting weakpoint as well.

^^ Now for the bragging part.

For basic resists (pokemon who has one type resisting the offending move when it either has no other type or another type neutral to the same move), my team has 18 resists. To complicate the matter, 10 of those belong to Magnezone.

For quad resists (pokemon with 2 types which both the same move type), Magnezone has the team's two quad resists, flying and steel.

As for Immunities (a type that renders the offending move UTTERLY USELESS, even if its other type would be weak to it), each team member has at least one immunity. Togekiss whom had the most weaknesses also has the most immunities with immaculate protection against ground (due to flying) and ghost types (due to normal). Swampert ground type makes it immune to electric attacks even though water types normally die to them. Magnezone, not content with his 12 other resists, is also immune to poison due to the steel type. If he uses Magnet Rise, he also gains Ground immunity. Umbreon rounds this group up with a nifty protection against the wily psychic types thanks to the dark typing. So a total of 5 or 6 immunities.

So yeah... My pokemon team is a more defense specialized team complete with status afflictions to screw the foes over, so if the squad needs to buy time for a teammate to do some buffings or wear a foe down, I am your dude. ^.~

So yeah, even if you don't choose to change your pokemon, knowing your weakpoints can help determine what moves to teach your pokemon to cover their defences.

Oh, and as an interesting little bit of info, the only currently existing pokemon without a weakness at all is Sableye, the Ghost/Dark type (although he isn't that powerful and Foresight would basically turn him into a dark type with all their weakpoints.) EDIT: Apparently, Spiritomb is also a Ghost/Dark type too although Sableye was first.

QUESTION! In the event of multi battles, team-battles or free for all, can a pokemon defend someone, like if someone try to use flamethrower on my Magnezone or *Shudder* on me, can Swampert jump in and take the damage?

Name: Isaac Lucius

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Class: Pokebird

Pokémon Registry: Rhyperior with Solid Rock

Appearance: Due to gene recombination Isaac is a tall, large man who has stones protruding out of his skin. His skin has a dark grey hue to it and the stones are a dark redish orange. Horns grow out of his head and he has a hole on each hand. Isaac also now has a large tail that ends in a stone ball.

Backstory / Personality: Nothing of note happened to Isaac as a child but things started to get interesting when he became a trainer. On his 10th birthday he received a Rhyhorn that just hatched from his parents who were breeders. At first the Rhyhorn was difficult to control and cause a lot of trouble for Isaac but as time went on it grew to trust Isaac.

With a powerful Pokémon like Rhyhorn with him Isaac was able to catch and train many other Pokémon. Through time and many battles that Rhyhorn became a Rhydon, and it was Isaac’s only mainstay Pokémon. In combat it was a monster in battle, able to take as well as it gave. After a few years (5 year) as a Pokémon trainer all 8 gym badges were collected, all that was left was to beat the elite four, but Isaac never got to that point.

On a trip back home Isaac’s parents surprised him with a poke farm of his own in which he could join the family business, and to his parents approval he decided to stay. Over the next few years his Pokémon became stronger and Rhydon became a Rhyperior when Isaac traded is father and then quickly traded back. Isaacs Rhyperior became the father to many Rhyhorn, and his farm became distinct because of the amount of Rhyhorn and Rhydon that live in it all originating from the same Rhyperior. But a good thing couldn’t last forever.

10 years after receiving the farm Rhyhorn started to disappear left and right, they were dimwitted and easily tricked into being captured by snaggers and just general pokethieves. This angered Isaac and his Rhyperior, pushing them to action. Together they tracked down each and every criminal administrating justice to each and every single one of them. This took 3 years, and after each and every one of Rhyperior’s offspring were found Isaac decided to let his farm go free into the wild as a herd, with Rhyperior as their leader. Isaac knew that Rhyperior would be able to handle the job well enough. He also knew what he had to do with is life now.

After living the life of a vigilante for 3 years Isaac decided to go official but not before recombining his genes with that of a Rhyperior (specifically his own one, using a sample that was given to him as a gift from his Rhyperior after telling him his plans.) He will now work under official jurisdiction, dispensing justice to the criminals of Honmyr.

EDIT-- Added my bio and alias.

I figured I might as well throw this up here before it's too late, despite it being a little incomplete. I dunno if I'll finish up my backstory by tonight or if it will have to wait for tomorrow. Also, I was originally gonna go as a Trainer, but my determination to only use pokemon from the original 151, as well as using pokemon that I personally liked, as well as ones that had moves that I liked turned out to be a little harder than I thought. Also I figure that being the only Snagger will mean I get the pick of the litter when it comes to stealing pokemon.

Oh and my pokemons' "Standard Move-set" is the moves they'll have unless I decide to change them around before a mission.

----------

Name: Mike Kenno
Alias: Dragon Thief (or DT for short)
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Class: Snagger

Pokémon Registry:
Dragonite
Ability: Inner Focus
Standard Move-set:
Dragon Claw, Dragon Pulse, Hyper Beam, Thunder

Charizard
Ability: Blaze
Standard Move-set:
Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Heat Wave, Flare Blitz

Appearance: Mike stands at 5’10” with a lean body. His dark brown hair is cut short, almost buzzed but not quite. His eyes brown are slightly lighter than his hair, but not by much. His wardrobe usually consists of blue jeans and t-shirt, and possibly his tan jacket depending on the weather. His pokeballs containing Charizard and Dragonite are kept on his right hip, while his snagger balls are kept in a pouch on his left.

Backstory: Mike grew up as an orphan on the streets in a big city filled with crime. There was everything, from small gangs to big time mafias and everything in between. Him and a few other orphans managed to survive by pick pocketing and stealing whatever they could. When Mike was twelve years old he managed to steal an empty pokeball, and after a few days of searching the outskirts of the city he caught his own Dratini. Unfortunately one of the small pokemon gangs was watching him, and they made him an offer. Either he joined their gang or they took his Dratini and he’d be stuck scavenging for scraps again. Not left with much of a choice, Mike joined the gang and over the next few years he worked his way up the ranks.

When he was sixteen he had landed himself a nice job stealing other trainers’ pokemon and selling them off to wannabe trainers or other gang members. By this time his Dratini had evolved to a Dragonair, and he had managed to catch his own Charmander in the wild. He kept this up for two years before the local law enforcement cracked down on his gang and arrested nearly everyone involved. Many of the gang members were given their due punishment, while others were allowed to go free after giving information about other gangs. When they came to Mike, however, they gave him the choice between jail time, or a real job on the right side of the law. When he asked why they were offering him a job he was told “You’re skilled, you have good pokemon, and we know you aren’t like the rest of the kids who do this because they like it.” Mike took the job and after a year of mundane police work he was given a position on the Task Force that was “better suited for someone with your skills.”

Personality: Despite his history Mike tends to have a friendly disposition. He's determined to show that the person he was in the past is not the person he is today. He will occasionally seek to lighten the mood with a sarcastic comment or two, and he's always willing to share his thoughts when it comes to making a plan.

Armored: "I'm tired of answering questions! Chizu-chan, you do it!"
Chizuru: "What? But I-"

Armored Chizuru Explains It All! ~ Part 5

Armored: "Oh, and Dracorian and Dauntasa and rapter200 and Arcanum Darkfire are in."
Chizuru: "That's ten people! Can you handle all that?"
Armored: "Half of 'em won't post past the first thread, I damn near guarantee. Now let's get to the questions, Chizuru."
Chizuru: "Bishoujo-sama, I can't do this!"
Armored: "Y'know, it's this shyness of getting around a lot of people that makes it so damn difficult for you to achieve your dream of being happily married and raising a huge family."
Chizuru: "But that's-"
Armored: "Just fuckin' do it before I have Rio grope you."
Rio: "You think I'd wait for an order to grope her?"
Chizuru: "Okay, okay, I'll do it!"

Chizuru: "Ummm...gosh, let's see. The first one goes, 'How would a bird Pokebrid work?' by CABAL49. Ummm, Bishoujo-sama?"
Armored: "I assume he's talking about flying. Like when DanteFalcon asked, let's say you can glide as a Pokébrid and can fly when you Paradigm Shift. But you can use HMs like Fly to move about and attack. It'll just be kinda different, like jumping and gliding from rooftop to rooftop and kickjumping off a wall and then gliding into the enemy."
Chizuru: "So wings somehow turn people into ninjas?"
Armored: "...Yes, yes they do."

Chizuru: "CABAL49 also asks this. 'And for Pokebrids, would there be an opportunity to evolve?'"
Armored: "Nope."
Chizuru: "..."
Armored: "..."
Chizuru: "...So uhhh...would that be it for this question, Bishoujo-sama?"
Armored: "Yeah, next question."

Chizuru: "This one from Dauntasa says, 'Why does the Rifle do Fighting type damage?'"
Armored: "Because it fuckin' does."
Chizuru: "I think he wants a logical answer."
Armored: "He's not gonna fuckin' get one."
Chizuru: "But-"
Armored: "There are a lot of things that cannot be explained in the world of Pokémon, like how a spherical object you can hold in your hand can act as a vessel to contain a fantasy creature many times the trainer's own size. Or why capturing a Pokémon as such somehow brings it under the trainer's control. Considering all the impossibilities in Pokémon that exist now, I didn't think that a High Velocity Penetrator rifle dealing Fighting type damage would raise an eyebrow."
Chizuru: "It raised Dauntasa's."
Armored: "That's because Dauntasa hates me. Next question."

Chizuru: "Oh, I think this is the last one, thank goodness! This one says, 'In the event of multi battles, team-battles or free for all, can a pokemon defend someone, like if someone try to use flamethrower on my Magnezone or *Shudder* on me, can Swampert jump in and take the damage?'"
Armored: "Damn, who asked that?"
Chizuru: "Menarker."
Armored: "Big effin' surprise. I'm about to send a Sharpedo right up his-ah, anyways, an enemy will never attack a trainer directly. And no, you can't have one Pokémon protect the other. Trying to negate weaknesses, you crafty bastard? That's it, you are so getting Sharpedowned."
Chizuru: "That concludes Part 5 of this Q&A session. If you all would please excuse me, I need to stop Bishoujo-sama from killing her players before they can even get in a fight."
Armored: "Hmmmm...'Sharpedowned'. Totally writing that one down."

I got some hold items to request. Since they are held by the pokemon, it seems "logical" that they won't count against the total for our friendly supply NPC unless we remove it and have her hold it.

Bright Powder: Raises the holder's Evasion by 10%.

Metronome: Boosts power of moves used repeatedly. Each time a move is used consecutively, its power is boosted by 10%, increasing up to a maximum of 100%. Switching or using another move returns the move's power to normal.

(2) Leftovers: Restores 1/16 of the Pokémon's maximum HP (rounded down) each turn when held.

Also a question/request. I was thinking of hopefully maybe considering Focus Band or Focus Sash, which activates when a pokemon would hit 0 hitpoints by an attack and instead sets it to 1 hitpoint. However, both have extremely limiting requirements. One has only a 10% chance to work, and the other requires your pokemon using it to be at full health and yet be hit so hard that they would lose all their hitpoints in one attack (and it is consumed in the process and thus naturally can only be used once a battle, assuming one had extras to use for future battles). Is there any chance of something to that effect but not nearly as drastic? If not, that's alright, but I figured it would be a neat/useful tool for when/if shit hit the fan.

Otherwise, just a few max revives and Full Restores sound useful.

That... Kimono girls... what?
Is there some sort of history behind this interesting band of... individuals? And can it be explained in musical form?

Other than that, I'm pretty much ready. Juuust a few more questions.

How many pokemon will trainers and snaggers have in battle at any one time? I had assumed it'd be just one, but recent questions have confused me.

Also, would it be feasible for Slayers to have some weapons that decrease enemy stats? Like, say, a shotgun that blinds enemies with flash, or a sonic projector that has the same effect as screech. Just a thought.

Also, there's an awfully high amount of (former) vigilantes on this team. Naquel, Wizardcat, myself, Rapter...
If we end up calling our team "Watchmen", dibs on Rorschach.
