Decision About Reputation.
Word has come from above after much deliberation that reputation is now disabled for all users apart from moderators and administrators. Reputation counts will be reset to default as to accurately represent who has earned reputation.
We'd ask that you do not make a thread to highlight any complaints/queries about this decision, as it is final. Any thread made will be deleted and you may possibly be temporarily banned. This is because we feel that discussing this matter further will only cause to create the same tension as the previous attempt at discussion. However, you are not without voice, as myself and Shiney have cleared our inboxes for any influx of messages regarding this situation. We'd ask that you didn't message any other moderator, as we have taken this upon ourselves. Shiney will be doing the reset tomorrow (Monday). He will keep track of the amount of reputation points you had in case you did not get the chance to record it for yourselves. If you wish to take screenshots, now would be the time to do so. Things that can earn you reputation from this point: Maturity, well written posts, properly reported posts, asking moderators to handle problems rather than taking it upon yourself, that sort of thing. (We're also not ogres, so a good post that makes us laugh may also get you reputation. Please don't take this to mean that every post needs to be a joke, as we'll get bored after a while.) Also, as a final note on the subject, any attempt to whore reputation from a moderator/administrator will be met with severe punishment. (And/or death.) I think that's all that really needs to be said. This has been a long time coming and finally we can settle this once and for all.

Addendum: reputation is now also being used as a tool for the mods to ban people. If you accumulate enough nmegative reputation, you will be automatically banned, permanently.
If you see a little red box appear next to your name, that's an indicator to shape up, and quickly. Every warning now comes with negative reputation from mods. Temporary bans, probations, everything. All with negative. If you start slipping but get your act together, you can still get positive reputation to undo the process. The three strikes system will still be in place for certain cases at the mod's discretion, however. If it is deemed you committed a serious enough offense you will still be banned.
