The only thing that I can think of that might lead one to think that souls are made of gas is the fact of how people claim to see clouds of smoke (or whatever) when they see a ghost, or that the ghost is of a cloudy figure.

However Souls don't constantly enter hell, that is a falacy. Since not everyone is a evil man like Black mage, most at leaat try to be good and therefore get into the lowest of the Three Kingdoms of Heaven. The rules to getting in the lowest kingdom are pretty loose, so as long as you aren't a cold blooded murderer beside other things, you should go there. (Quote: "And I saw a man caught up into the third kingdom...")

But enough of religion fromme for now:

The idea of abstarcing "souls" to a gas is that, everything can be thought of as a gas: solids, liquids, gases, plasmas, photonic energy, solid/liquid/gasous/plasmatic anti-matter, leptons, bosons, gravitons, quarks, exotic matter,.....everything.

I am pretty sure that BM is going to try casting some level of ICE, because what else would seem as ironic as that? But, chances are, that it'll not work for some reason. Then we'll see what Hell has in store for BM for the rest of eternity. It's highly unlikely that BM will conquer Hell. Think about it. If BM took over Hell, why would he have any reason to return to the real world. DnD states that a spirit must be willing to return, 8-Bit seems to go by their laws alot, even if he was removed from his ultimate position against his will, he would just kill himself and return. BM would lose any reason for being in the storyline anymore, and I thought that we didn't want that.

As for the Demon, he "converts his very essence into pure destruction" indicating that he converts his "soul" (or whatever Demonic equivalent) into heat energy. So no, BM won't run into him, nor will anyone else.

Seems like this is getting a little off topic... so my prediction is that the next couple comics will have nothing to do with BM whatsoever. The camera will probably switch to WM and BB, and... ok, that was stupid, I give up. I think I'll just wait until he posts the comic.

That would be cool if BM froze over hell. He could take a pict, and if he comes back to life, asks out whitemage, shell say, "When hell freezes over" :bmage: shows :wmage: the pict, and you get the rest.

As for the Hell theory, how the HELL (Ironic?) are those scientist gonna prove that souls are gases? Plus, Hell is another realm in the AFTERlife! Damn scientist always have to try and explain everything. An alien could land here, and theyll try and prove its not real

I think that Black Mage will end up destroying this "new wing" of hell with a well place hadoken. (We haven't seen one in a while anyways) Nonetheless its good to see Black Mage, well "alive" and "well".
