hmmm, i guess i would've noticed if it was used as a noun. are you sure confidant was the right spelling in that context? i thought it read "i'm feeling pretty confidant" a few times now...

Part of me wants to believe someone trying to be inconspicuous would be smart enough to use a name that wasn't Jezebelle Locke.

Jezebelle, for god's sake.

The inside of the hotel is the same modest posh that'd been there earlier tonight. Since I didn't have anything to go on other than the fact that she had a room here at one point, I'm probably going to have to ask the receptionist about her.

One more headache I don't need.

"Hello... there. Can... um..." His nasally voice breaks off and he won't stop staring at the giant splotch of blood on the front of my shirt.

"Is Jezebelle Locke registered here as a guest?"

"Um. Yes. Miss Locke is one of our more... ah... popular guests. Why do you ask?"

"Because I need to see here. Tell me her room number."

"I can't do that, ah... ma'am, it's against hotel policy."

Can't do that. Can't do that.

"If you don't give me the key, I'm going to call Boris upstairs and in five minutes you'll have twelve angry Russians dragging you into an alley so they can pull your intestines out through your penis."

He stares at me for a moment, trying to work out how serious I was being. He knows about Boris but he doesn't know me and he doesn't get threats often.

"I... see. I suppose I can make an exception this time. Here's the key to her suite. Ah. Have a nice evening."

It's comforting to know that even if I don't ever become queen shit of fuck mountain again, I can at least be an assassin.

Walk in, waste bitch, walk out, tell the redheaded stepchild I fixed all the problems she's too incompetent to deal with.

Then get a magical ring, go on a journey with a werewolf, a mummy and a forest nymph to the distant lands of Honolulu to cast the ring into the molten fire from which it came and save all the horrible world of darkness from the terrible Antediluvian because I'm getting the sinking feeling this shit is never going to end.

Of course if I don't and she turns out to be an innocent victim it's not like a bunch of undead monsters are going to care.

"Avon calling."

"Mmm... who do we have here?" Her voice is sultry and low, but there's a raspy quality to it, like someone with a bad case of strep throat. She leans against the door frame and licks her lips while leering at me worse than even Jeannette had done. She also doesn't seem the slightest bit concerned that there's a submachine gun pointed at her face. "Are you a believer, little morsel? Have you come for the kind of enlightenment only Jezabel can give?"

"No, fuck off. I've had enough dykes hit on me to last another unlifetime."

"Oh, but I have such things to show you, little morsel... such beautiful, dirty little things. Won't you come into my parlor?"

She steps backwards and I follow her in because I'd rather shoot her point blank in the face than try and hit her through a wall. She doesn't wait for me to say anything before trying to pitch her sale of a gay, STD ridden whore.

I don't even know if I could sell that.

"Follow me, come and join the enlightened. Indulge your animal instincts until both kine and Kindred lie spent upon the altar. Desire will be our truth, desire and the death that follows."

"I think I'll just shoot you."

She shakes her head and smiles.

"Oh, you cannot escape me, little morsel. One way or another, you and I will intertwine our beings on the way into the Ninth Circle, and I will send you forth, full of the sweet si-"

I decide I don't really care.

The bullets slice clean through her and she starts to glow a scattered, dull yellow. She pulls a knife from her belt and comes at me swinging. I backpedal around the table, still pulling down the trigger.

She jerks forward, trying to advance against the onslaught of hollow point rounds. I know bullets and vampires have a kind of tenuous lethality, but she's starting to look pretty shredded.

I keep my distance, and with the undead strength apparently inhabiting my arms I'm able to fire the Ingram with one hand without too much recoil, which comes in handy for quickly switching out magazines. Of course, it doesn't take long before there isn't another one waiting in my pocket.

At the sound of the rapid clicking she seizes the opportunity and dives over the table at me, knife swinging back. I do the first thing that comes to mind. I haul back and launch the Ingram at her head. It hits her in the nose with a pulpy thud and bounces slightly off before crashing to the ground. Jezabel stands there, unmoving, nose pushed entirely into her face. Her knife arm lowers and she blinks at me, like she can't believe I threw a gun at her head.

Which gives me plenty of time to pull out the glock.

At least vampires die relatively clean.

Nobody questions me when I leave the lobby, either nobody heard or they're all used to gunshots. With Boris setting up permanent shop, it's probably the latter.

One plague cured, another good deed in the bank. I'll be a regular Saint Nicholas if things keep going this way.

I'm going to get some rest before I deal with Damsel the Wonder Bitch again. I swear to god, I'm going to have to be the one to kill her, I just know it.

Plus, I've got to remember to talk to Heather next time I see her. At least I know it's the blood that's making her act the way she is and she isn't that weird on her own. I mean, probably. That's sort of a silver lining, right?

OH MY GOD I CANNOT WRITE THIS HELEN/HEATHER DIALOG TO SAVE MY LIFE I HAVE BEEN TRYING ALL WEEK SO HERE IS WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO:

You all vote on whether or not we keep Heather as our ghoul and I'll see if I can't smash together some dialog once I've got a clear outcome. Since this is a little short notice, I'll let you know what you'd know by this point in the game:

Kicking her out: You're mean to her so she'll be miserable then go through horrible cold turkey blood withdrawal before she gets back to normal and starts going to her college classes again.

Keeping her: She'll drop out of college and give up her fashion design major so she can protect/watch over you while you sleep during the day but you get to be nice to her and she'll be happy.

I AM SO SORRY THE UPDATE IS THIS SHORT I WILL BOOK IT NEXT UPDATE AND MAKE A LENGTHY ONE AND POST IT IN A TIMELY MANNER
