Another thing: Bartz is fully redeemed for me after that scene of him wielding not only a Buster Sword, but also a fucking GUNBLADE. I'm also liking the way that it seems a LOT of terrain will be destructible. After scenes in Advent Children and Crisis Core, it just seems so fitting that we'll finally be able to have battles of that scope. Notice that in the Cloud vs Sephiroth fight, they seem to be in North Crater, and some of the big hunks of rock end up as casualties in the fight... plus, Cecil and Golbez's MOON FIGHT results in a few new craters, unless I'm mistaken.

I'm beginning to hate Kefka's voice, sadly. But that's the only one I don't love.

Why give the money to a successful Hollywood actor? I vote for Johnny Yong Bosch. He was in DoC in minor roles, so it's not a stretch.

Also, Vic Mignona for Zidane, or barring that, maybe Yuri Lowenthal could pull it off. I'd reserve him for Squall, though. I think he could pull it off. Maybe Vic could even pull off Kefka? Someone said that Mark Hamill wouldn't be the best Kefka and I'm inclined to agree. His villains tend to be more the cartoon Joker/Jafar kind of more comedic roles, rather than the more serious OMFG HE'S OFF HIS ROCKER! type stuff that's funny in a more serious setting. Either that, or maybe whoever did Seymour could do Kefka.


Just for this being Squeenix, though, I'm betting Kim Mai Guest is going to get a role in this. She's already done FF as (I think) Yuffie. Also, Tio from Grandia II. Very versatile.

I can't see Seymour's voice actor playing Kefka. Seymour is too... passive. Willem Dafoe (Green Goblin, Spiderman) would be an outstanding Kefka, though. You can easily imagine him shouting "Run, run or you'll be well done!"

If the voice fits and they do a good job, then they should be allowed. I don't think S-E should limit themselves to a certain group of Voice Actors

I know, but I really think Vic would do a good job with him.

Also, the reason why S-E should limit themselves to non-celebs is that celebs are already successful, would be taking jobs away from a tight-knit community that relies on each others' RECOMMENDATIONS for jobs, and generally don't produce work as good as the people who do nothing else. I mean, when was the last time you saw a movie poster like this:

Probably, hmmmm... never, right? Because it's never happened, and probably never will. VA's are constantly getting screwed these days. Half the time they aren't even listed in the credits on the last page of the manual anymore. Why give a professional VA's job to a successful screen actor when, as evidenced by their performances in such games as the Kingdom Hearts series, they're liable to come out with a half-assed job even when all they even have to do is sound like themselves? I mean, COME ON! Some people can pull it off, like Robin Williams, but those people are already all owned by Disney, and this isn't a Disney project.

Therefore, it makes sense to get a good voice cast, rather than a famous one.



Edit: Okay, upon further research, it turns out that the Port Royal cast wasn't actually done by the original actors. In fact, Will was done by Freeman, who was mentioned elsewhere in this thread. It still stands that it's just better to hire professional VAs for other reasons not so discounted.

Voice is really too deep, and the actor would be out of S-E's price range.

Spiner would be able to express the role amazingly, but I don't know if I'd like his voice for it. He's a great actor. I just don't think he really has the pitch and tone people would expect from an insane clown.
