I'm pretty sure it's Christian Bale, doubly so given Mirai's comment. Also, Angelina Jolie for Mia Fey. And Big Boss as the judge.

A good Zelda movie would be about a young man WITHOUT a love interest or a quirky personality (also mute) who is sent by his village into the bigger world on a fairly minor errand...only to stumble into a Hyrule in Chaos, with the King and Queen Killed, the castle in ruins, and Princess Zelda missing.
The main antagonist (for the majority of the movie) who seeks to use the special powers of the princess to open a way into a realm of Power, and use this power to conquer the world and remake it as he chooses. This antagonist is quick to use others for his schemes, and manages to dupe Link into venturing into a single dungeon to defeat 3 great monsters to rescue the princess, and in doing so manages to get past all the barriers that only Link and Zelda could have gotten through. At the bottom of the dungeon, he attempts to have his men kill them both so he can access the lair of power. In order to defeat the two mercenaries he hired, a quickly unarmed Link pulls out an old and rusty blade from a podium and only just barely defeats them. The blood that pours from their bodies takes the form of runes that break through the barrier without Zelda's powers, and releases a Spectral Pig demon that explains that it had set up these current events as the seal that imprisoned it weakened over time. The realm of "power" was actually it's prison (as the owner of the triforce of power) and it had tricked him into sowing discord amongst the land as he made his bid for power, so that the Demon could have enough strength to escape. The only flaw was that he hadn't killed Zelda and Link, who were the only people who could keep him sealed, and since he doubted the Antagonist even stood a chance against them, would now act on his own. "You do not possess power, unless you can do things on your own." He devours the man, and as the screams die and a malevolent red burst of magick, Ganondorf Dragmire is reborn. He draws a sword, and moves to attack Link and Zelda, and in the beginning of the fight, Link is easily no match for the man, so they flee out of the cave, being chased by an Implacable Ganon back through all the traps (and as the dungeon starts caving in), and their escape is aided by the weakened guardians of the dungeon (nice job breaking it, hero). In Hyrule field, they are not able to get far before Ganondorf bursts from the dungeon. Just as things begin to look bleak, the morning sun rises behind Link and Zelda, and hits the sword he found. Zelda, seeing the sword shine in the sunlight, realizes it for what it is, and calling upon ancient wisdom, blesses the blade, which suddenly regains it's splendor (and a white glow) and becomes yet again the sword of demon's bane: The master sword. He fights Ganondorf in an Epic battle, which sets Hyrule Field ablaze and opens up fizzures into the underworld that hordes of moblins rise from to attack the citizens and aid their King. Link finally manages to strike him down, only for him to rise up again as the giant Pig monster he truly is. This time, only with the aid of Zelda and the three spirits of the Dungeon Guardians, are they capable of sealing Ganon away. As the dust settles, and the Kingdom begins to rebuild, Link is honored with a new tunic and hailed as a great hero...only for him to silently and wordlessly slip away when no one's looking to buy what he came to Hyrule for (some bags of seeds). He then rides off back into the countryside, with Zelda watching from the castle walls, back to his home. The villagers are somewhat upset of course, that he took so long, but he's not one to explain himself. Also, this is all animated, not live action. Live action SUX.

Actually I think something like Wind Waker would work simply because the device of the ship gives an excuse for finding all these ancient ruins and stuff and having adventures, and for some reason the plot seemed to work on more of a plot level.. It doesn't have to be a talking boat, it can be a full-sized ship. With a wacky crew! Hollywood audiences like wacky crews. Also Twilight Princess seemed to be moving into the realm of having a more fleshed out plot, as well.
Also I like Pyros' plot outline, except Ganon needs to play more of a character role and not just the ancient demon they need to prevent from escaping. In my opinion.

I liked this thread more when it was about Ace Attorney:
And because it will inevitably get a trilogy: All we need is Franziska, dammit! Last edited by Regulus Tera; 03-30-2009 at 11:11 PM. |
