OMG kitty! \oO/
So it seems one of my relatives has found a cat (I don't know, all I ever seem to find are dimes in the couch and such. Maybe they're just lucky) and my parents have decided to adopt it. An unexpected turn of events to be sure.
Resident cat owners: any advice? Like, at all? Lay it on me. Just pretend you'd meet an alien space traveller and he wanted you to explain the mysteries of the kitty. |

First: Nobody understands cats. The leading theory is God was a little tipsy when he created them. Another theory is Satan was a little tipsy when he created them. I gotta go with the second one.
Second: It really depends on the breed and age, along with a few other attributes, but for just plain cats, be careful. Mainly, how old is it? And what breed, if you can tell? And if you can't, what kind of fur and colors/markings does it have?

I have a cat. I even have a picture of it which I can't post right now though.
One word of advice: Don't let the cat get lazy or boss you around. My cat comes to me when he wants me to turn his god damn plate so he can it from the other side without moving! DAMMIT!

Cats can really take care of themselves. You don't have to clean them. If you get them near water they will claw your eyes out. Pet it alot and it will be a good kitty. Cats are lazy. My cat sleeps all day. My cat is part Siamese. Not alot, but part. Shes really sweet. In my experience, boy kittys are nicer than girl kittys.

Boys are always more nice than girls, no matter the species.
You are such bitches... Don't let your cat kill innocent animals in hope of a prize!

Oh hi! :D

Okay, first things first...
Like Skyshot has outlined, you should find out what type and breed it is. Is it male or female? From my experience, females make better cats because they tend to not spray everything, like males to when they mark territory. Has it had all of its shots? You should take it to a vet, get it checked out and shots taken if needed. Next is food. Depends on how old the kitty is will help you decide what type of food to get. Like say it's an old cat, get some senior kitty food. Or if it has bad teeth, get some dental kitty munchies, etc. Most of this will be outlined by the vet, if you happen to take it there. I stress that you should though, especially if it's been abandoned and wandering the streets. Hmm...that's all I can think of right now. More later, probably. |

It's a black she kitty and she's about five weeks right now. The vet stuff will be handled by said relatives and we're probably gonna take over once she's ten weeks.
As for where she's coming from, apparently my cousin's boyfriend discovered her lying between the wheels of a (still-standing) tank. o_O At least we got the "crazy origin story" part down. EDIT: konnor, quit the spam, would you? That might just barely go over even in Off Topic. I put this in General for a reason. |
