Kamikaze squirrels?

Has anyone else heard this?

One of my friends' mother was telling me a story about how recently in one state there were a bunch of squirrels committing suicide by jumping off of a ledge into a really deep pit/quarry, one after the other, and that in another state, the squirrels are rampantly attacking humans. This woman tends to be a bit of a fruitcake, so I'm not sure if this is true or not, but if any of you have heard anything of this nature, I'd like to know.
