Proxy
I presently have to use a school network inorder to get on the internet during the day, but annoyingly the proxy applied onto the network disables the searching for Cgi-proxys and games of any kind! Could anyone give me a reliable proxy for me to use?
The software is harder to break than St. Benard and I still can't get into it, not only that, theres no option of typing in a password inoder to temporarily disable the feature, so it would be wonderful if you could help! Thanks.

Focus on your studies, dude. It's a better pastime than asking for help finding proxies to circumvent a system put in place for a specific reason. Failing that, just quit searching for games to play. We're not here to contribute to what amounts to delinquency. Many other things gladly, most of them involving spyglasses and witty retorts, but not delinquency.
That's my opinion.

well...I dont know about proxys but I do know that I get a proxy server message at school when im trying to look for a website containing games. This can be easily bypassed because at my school, the error only shows up on certain web gaming sites like www.addictinggames.com
So the proxy blocks that site, but only when theres nothing past the .com of the site. Now if I were to look for this site through google and get something like www.addictinggames.com/kittencannon.html, I would be taken to the game and it will load. So your best bet on getting around this is by knowing what you want to play and looking for it through google and it should work if it takes you directly to the game. But seriously...why play games on school computer? they may have better internet but dude seriously...how good is a school computer? ours dont even have sound cards in them, and im pretty sure that the videocards the computers came with arent in them, but the video cards from the computers the school had a decade ago.

1. Short of disconnecting from the school network and connecting to another one, there is none. That's what the proxy is there for.
2. We have a Computer Help thread. I believe it is stickied. 3. Focus on your schoolwork. I'm not paying taxes so you can play Quake all damn day. |

No, there are ways around it. Plenty.
Best is to download a proxy-program, and use it in combination with firefox, one that hops proxies. That way you can browse what you want. I'm tired right now after a night out, but google proxy sites that have lists of proxies and even sites like megaproxy (which is just a trial) which act as a superficial browser. I don't get the 'focus' advice. Chances are, he's not a horrible rebellious student and just wants to entertain himself in one of his boring classes, and is unfortunately restricted by bad policy and bureaucracy. There are alwyas ways around it. The best idea, though, is to get a linux live cd--doesnt harm the system at all, but you're using an isolated, unaffected OS, like Knoppix/Whoppix, Ubuntu, any number of things. Even PHLAK, made for situations like this, which has a command to disguise itself as Windows. How fucking cool is that? Besides, Livecds are always good to have, even for non-subversive purposes. Now, if there are restrictions to the little hardware connection istelf, that's a little harder, but doable.

As for the fact that your paying for "My" Education, well thinking about it SO AM I! Wow, state taxes don't just apply to certain people, they apply to everyone. Anyway, I can't even search for proxies. I wish they used Saint Benard here.

Dude I feel for you after I do my work my teachers let me go one the web, but luckily the school had some money cuts and down graded to light speed.
This system is total crap the system turns the web into a big building with many many hall ways, it's a simple matter of finding a door thats not locked, for example, I like to go on madflex from time to time but since it has games it restricted. The direct route is locked so I try another link but proxy I dont know, I had some friends that came from a more financially greater school, and they had proxy, they told some horror stories. All I can say is to try different links to get to that site of your choice because. I dont know much about proxy, and p.s do your school work you have time to screw around at your house.
