8-bit Theatre Fighting Game!!!
Okay... now that I have your attention, yes I did make an 8-bit theatre fighting game. Don't know if this is the right place to post this... but... anyways...
I used a program called visual basic to create this game. It's a little... underdeveloped, but I guess I wanted to see if anyone wants to try it out. Problem is... I only have the trial version so I can't compile the game into an exe file. So... you'll need visual basic in order to play it. Neways, if you want, here are some screenshots: Neways, if someone could please help me compile and test this game, I'd be extremely grateful. Thanks! Btw, if you want to just play this game and you have visual basic, just leave your e-mail here. Sorry if this is just a waste of time and space on the forums. Edit: A friend of mine compiled the game for me so... all you really need to play the game is winrar... which is a program that lets you extract files from .rar files. Just double-click the .exe file that comes out of the .rar file to play the game. Last edited by DragonTrainer; 02-25-2006 at 12:38 AM. |

Looks pretty sweet. However i have (pretty much) no skill in compiling programs. Keep up the work and i look foward to see it in action.

Looks like it'll be pretty cool when you finish. If you can get around to it, I'd reccomend some form of backgrounds or something, though that's not necessary. Also, please keep in mind that double posts in this forum are to be avoided in general--I think it's okay in this situation, though.

Yeah, you can only fit up to four images in one post.
Looks like an interesting project. |

If I may, can I suggest using another game engine?
It's made exclusively for 2-D fighters, and it's called MUGEN, it's a fun and powerful engine to play with (both, as the creator and the gamer). However, it's a bit hard to create characters in, which I consider the only flaw in it. Anyway, it's your choice to give it a shot or not. I just thought I'd add a suggestion. I've posted about the MUGEN community before, a few months back... ... But that's a topic for another time... Anyway, if you can send me the game, I'd like to give it a shot. The email's blackhbmage at gmail dot com.

In...Visual Basic!?
*dies* I certainly commend you for creating a fighting game in the most inferior programming language know to man and monkeys. And it does look pretty good. But if you really want it to be better, you'll need a different language. I doubt that's within your resources though, so I'll jsut have to keep saying "Wow," at the awesome job you did. |

Yeah... see... I may have to put off the project until I learn C+ or Java or something. Plus, notice how my sprites are in white squares? Can't seem to get around that...
neways, technically the game is done, but... I want to improve it. I think I'll try Mugen and give it a whirl. I just hope I won't have to write another 2,600 lines of code. :p |

Please, if you have any questions about I may even offer my help for the Fighting game. I'm not a great coder nor anything, but I might help you out with how the engine works, and what you can do exactly with it. And just in case you couldn't tell, I am looking foward for this game, specially on MUGEN.
