Snow
here in chicago, we're getting our first big snowfall of the season. the weather chimps are predicting about a foot of it, but ill belive that when i see it. we've got about an inch or two so far and it's still going strong.
all ive got to say is, its about fucking time. i was born in Petoskey Michigan, which is way the fuck north (almost in the upper peninsula), and we snow all the damn time during winter. after moving south, and moving again to chicago, ive been sorely disapointed with thier pansy snow storms. hows the snow situation with everyone else?

Its like this. Snow never happens in the great city of St. Louis. I recall winters as a child..where snow was more common than say the local murder in the eastside. Now..we get no snow..except for maybe one day of it. and thats it. I mean christ..it was like 60 degrees here the other day.

I used to live in Virginia, and we got about three feet of snow every year...then I moved to Florida, and I think my blood thinned or something, because now I hate the cold...bah, snow...

Ah... snow, how I love you. Living up here in Mass. it is a common occurance in winter. Heck, we just had two nor'easters in two weeks in mid december, last year (It feels wierd to say that).
But now it's gone. All we have left is little snow piles everywhere, but that's ok! In the farmer's book, it said we would be getting a lot of the white powder. I love winter, and everything about it. I love cold!! BM, you live in FL? Tell me, how was it battling those 40 degree temps? Nothing against you, it just sounded funny hearing it on the news up here, the word battling really made me smile. Hell, 40 is windbreaker weather, Sometimes I just say "screw it" and go out in T-shirt. Nothing against you, really! I dislike summer though... too hot. Way too hot!

Me, living in Minnesota, am used to the winter. Right now it's 3 degrees, but the wind chill, it feels like -9. And this considered warm for this time of the year. But it's going to get colder later in the week, yay! But, unfortunaly, there's no snow, boo hoo.

Coldness is really mind over matter. If you don't think you are cold, you won't be. As cliche as that may sound is also the truth. I could be damn near frostbitten..and still be like "what do you mean I shouldn't be wearing shorts!?"

see, that's the great thing about living in southern california. except for mammoth and big bear, "snow" is an alien concept for us. usually we go down to the beach over winter break because of southern swells. man, i love it here. except its been about 43 at night, too freakin cold for me.

Yah, I live in Minnesota too... Northern Minnesota. It's quite a few degrees below zero, I'm not sure how many though, and we have quite a few feet of snow on the ground. It's been a warm year... but ups here that doesn't really mean warm.
Also, JS, the globe's temperature has changed a lot more than this few degrees before we had corporations polluting. One year while the settlers were first coming to america it snowed all year round, and cows make-up most of the greenhouse gasses being released into the air. Also... O-zone holes are the opposite of global warming (which is o-zone thickening) and we environmentalists complain about those and global warming in the same breath. They really don't bother with facts very often, which is unfortunate because some of the stuff they say should be listened to (like clear cutting rainforest for farming land [that won't last] and forcing animals into extinction).
