Anyone sad to see no new news posts? What's up, Brian? Why aren't you giving us news? I'm being left hanging checking everyday for an update and nothing there! When you gonna give us more enlightenment?

I have been kinda suprised you haven't put anything up there about your own reactions to LotR:Return of the King. I'd have thought that'd have come out by now...

Unless, you're waiting for it on DVD, because the lines still too long.

You want some thoughts on Return of the King? Fine. Did you like the other two movies? Yes? Then you'll like this one. It's no different or worse than the others? What's with everyone wanting to know mine and Brian's views on it? Also, I put up a nice long post about, ironically enough, my thoughts on movies.

Perhaps because ROTK is one of the biggest geek (or for that matter, non-geek) movie events or this or any generation; it's the last of the trilogy; the most well-received of the trilogy; the highest grossing of the trilogy; and is a heavy favorite to win Best Picture? Geeks like to know other geek's feeling on stuff, especially from "authority figures", heh. Members of any social sub-group like to know the reactions of other members of that sub-group to things in which they are interested, and of course especially from iconic figures within their sub-group. But it's not necessarily a big event for everybody. I was raised on Tolkien, and so for me and my family it has been a big deal, but for people like Brian and Sosa, neither of whom have ever read the books, they're fun sword-and-sorcery movies and...that's about it. There isn't the deep emotional involvement with the source material for them as there is for other people. You want to see them get worked up, wait until WETA makes a live-action Transformers movie.
