Black and White 2, nevermore!

I just recently bought Black and White 2 - hey, 30 bucks, can't go wrong - and my computer hissed at me in a demonic dialect as it showed me an error message.

It claims that I have emulation software, something I disabled before run- I mean, something I would never use. I definately didn't pirate my copy of Prince of Persia: Two Thrones and NFS: Most Wanted.

Anyway. I don't have any software running and it keeps claiming I do. If this keeps up I'm going to download the .iso and run the no-cd fix. But that takes alot more downloading that I want to do at the moment.

I've googled, to no avail. Anyone able to help?

Have you tried uninstalling your non-pirated copies of PoP and NFS?

It sucks having to delete those games and their registries, but with some luck you can save the savegames to use them later.

I have no other suggestions.

There's workarounds for this--it uses some technology (the name escapes me as of now) that's pretty insidious. If you have any sort of software they deem 'unacceptable' even installed the game will Danza slap you.

So choice is, either look for the workaround, or uninstall those things. It's not enough that the processes aren't running. It's the DRM of the gaming world.

Evil monkey ftw, yes. By the way, be sure to get the smelter plans as soon as possible, whether you're good or evil. Ore is a finite resource, unlike the other two.

If you're going to be good, save up for the Siren. If you're going to be evil, save up for Master Soldier, Heal, and Fireball for your creature.

I can pretty much send little Dunston out to play with entire populations by now.

Well have you looked through your installed programs? Try getting the computer to "populate" a list under the program "Add or Remove Programs" and look at some of the more shiffty ones. Its possible that the software picked up on some malicious spy or adware products.
