Voices- Red Mage and Black Mage?
Does anyone think that the red voice in Episode 434 is Red Mage? I didn't even think about it until now, but Episode 732 changed my mind. Notice how the red dailog box in 434 matches with the dailog box in 732?
Can someone confirm this? I know it's not a major plot point, but it is bugging me. Edit: Alright, I got what I came here for. Thanks for replying. Last edited by Mikelx215; 08-20-2006 at 07:36 PM. |

no. They have absolutely nothing to do with each other. That red box could be absolutely anyone's voice who wears red like fighter or Sarda. Therefore nobody will be making ANY assumptionns of what any of it could mean because it doesn't matter *nods sagely*

There are several threads that've been dedicated to 434 discussion, I'll see if I can't go dig up the links.
Here and here for more discussion about 434 than you ever cared to listen too. General summary of threads: Brian says the text box isn't pink, implicitly excluding the red speaker as white mage. People say 'it's RM or Fighter". People argue a bit. Everyone realises the plot significance of a Fighter/BM climatic confrontation like this. Various comics are linked to to prove Fighter can be that smart. Then someone suggests it might be BM talking to himself and gets laughed out the thread. EDIT: And then some people say 'It's Sarda or Sara!" then they quickly re-read the comic and realise it had to be someone on the flight to gurugu.

Don't forget the "It might not be BM" argument. Someone always uses it, and then someone else points out that if it's not BM, then the joke doesn't make sense.

It's Fighter.
Anyone who says otherwise is a fool or a liar.

Why isn't this merged with one of the many other 434 threads? Just curious.

I think that the topic of episode 434 crops up often enough to justify a sticky.
It would probably save us the effort, of repeating the same discussion every few months. EDIT: Also, as long as I'm here. Fithfiend, empty your PM box!

This is kind of turning into a 434 discussion discussion thread. But anyway, I'll post something on-topic:
The gradient for the red boxes in 732 is slightly different than the gradient for the red boxes in 434. 732 is a bit brighter, a bit redder than 434. It probably doesn't mean anything, though. |

I don't think that at this point anything new can come off discussing and speculating about Episode 434. It's been thoroughly analyzed, talked about and driven into the ground - the only thing we're gonna achieve is maniacal cackling in casa Clevinger because Brian's plan to make our mouths water worked so well.
I think I can even quote the major points from memory. - The orange boxes look precisely like Black Mage's speech bubbles when he was king of Hell. - The red boxes could be Red Mage or Fighter talking. - The background of panel four looks like White Mage's robes, splattered with blood. - Brian is a huge bastard who positively delights in making his readers run their heads off with speculation and has a somewhat less than spotless reputation when it comes to not misleading them. Basically. |
