Favourite Character in All Gaming II?

Thought I'd reincarnate this thread, as the last one collapsed under it's own weight.

As for the question, that's hard. I'd personally say that ALL the characters from Planescape Torment (even Nordom! but not Vhailor, 'cus he was shallow and got on my nerves) were superb, and the PST writers should all be given a lifetime supply of cookies.

I'm so surprised that no-one has mentioned Minsc. I thought everyone loved Minsc! I do... platonically of course. Jan Jansen is funny, and Jaheira is a very deep and intruiging character. Mazzy rocks too, if only she lived in the 3E ruleset though, then she could have been a Paladin. Jon Irenicus is also the coolest villain ever Ever EVER!!!

What else... Oswald and Marelie Fiddlebender from IWD (Marelie in IWD:II only) are just great- "Say hello to the nice adventurers now Marelie"!!! Isair and Madae are pretty good too. Sherincal got on my nerves SO badly.

Elmo in TOEE is pretty funny, but Otis lost my vote after he... ok, I won't spoil.

I'm going to have to vote for the entire villainous cast of Xenogears. (Why the heroes didn't have even half as much characterization is beyond me.) I mean, sure, you could compare Ramsus, Grahf and Krelian to Cloud, Sephiroth, and Hojo respectively, but Ramsus is better at "I-think-I'm-a-clone"ery, Krelian has the mad scientist gig down better, and Grahf is twice the badass Seph is. Plus Grahf doesn't have a complex about his mom. Or need to carry a +5 Sword of Obvious Compensation For Something.

Looks like I may have started a flame war. Oops.

Minsc was awesome...but not the best. I'd say the best was...

The G-man from Half-Life! (ok it's a computer game and i don't know if it fits in this thread but who cares) Cool suit, mysterious circumstances, represents an inter-dimensional superpower...definitely the best.

Hmm...I have a lot of favourites. Oh, well. I'll prune the list for the sake of convenience. My abridged list of favourites are:

Lucca - Chrono Trigger
Freya, Amarant, and Steiner - Final Fantasy 9
Leena, Glenn, Steena, Guile - Chrono Cross

Um...I guess eight characters still isn't very abridged.

Dante from Devil May Cry. He just kicked so much ass. Plus he threw motorcycles at people. Until your wussy RPG heroes are throwing motorcycles, he will always be the coolest.
