Goddamn sequels
You know what I'm fuckin' sick of? Is any game where you have to lose all the awesome-sauce abilities you had in the last one, then go run around getting the same bullshit back again.
It's like I already got the Time-Dagger / Chozo weapons / Dante's sword skills / ascent to Godhood, I shouldn't have to go fucking get it all a second time. Just once it'd be nice to see them let you, I dunno, keep the stupid Morph ball, and then come up with some new stuff for you to go and get.

At least Metroid came up with a plausible reason why Samus lost her upgrades. ut yeah, that kinda is a pain. Its defiantly evident in the Megaman Series. |

Golden Sun sort of did this, with their password system, but by the time you got your old characters, chances are you already had better equipment. Regardless, they tried, and I liked how it turned out.

I thought she was supposed to be the best bounty hunter in the universe.\ Megaman is a pacifist, Dr. Light removes all of the weapons after the threat is gone, X on the other hand, hes a fucking war-machine fighting in an ongoing war!

Metroid Prime handled it wonderfully. In Prime, she gets a huge short-circut from an explosion that puts her back into her Power Suit. In Prime 2, the Ing steal all your shit from you.
I still don't get Devil May Cry though. I always understood Mega Man to be that the Robot Master powers were always temporary, and went away after a while. Never explained Mega Man X, though, where he's fighting the Maverick Wars in every game and yet he still goes back to zero (Most of the time).

Devil May Cry:
Devil May Cry 3 is a prequel where he's still learning his shit, like a basic human. He unlocks a bunch of weapons, yeah, but those weapons are the souls of ancient demons- They likely say, "Okay we're done byebye" as soon as the game is over. that made sense to me. The unlockable skills? Well, since DMC1 didn't work the same way for upgrades and combat, that felt about right to me anyway. in DMC1 you still start with a fair amount of skill in everything anyway. DMC2 is a plague upon this earth and will not be mentioned. it never happened. DMC4 feels right- Brand spanking new Character, with Dante making appearances ((appearantly at full power)). |

With Megaman, I can accept that the Power-Ups were deleted. But if X is fighting a war as stated above and knows how powerful all the Mavericks are. Keep the suit. Stupid Capcom.
At least Megamn Legends 2 had an excuse. Roll solds the upgrades to fix the flutter. Here is a clinker question. What about FF X-2. How come my Yuna can't cast Ultima or Rikku deal 99999. |

As much as I enjoyed God of War 2 I thought it was ridiculous how obvious of a trap it was for Kratos. "Drain your godly powers into the Blade of Olympus." as Zeus had said. I mean cmon', Kratos was obviously betrayed by one of the gods already (he thought it was Athena) why wouldn't he raise an eyebrow at such a demand by Zeus? Granted it made sense why everything happened the way it did, but I never saw Kratos being that gullible.

Xenosaga II has you get all your moves back, but in a different yet easier way than the original. Plus, everyone can learn them without teransferring. The clear data [for Xenosaga I] is also only good for the swimsuit for Ziggy, KOS-MOS and someone else.
Swimsuit allows about double the skill points you normally get when equipped. |
