It isn't just the ban on the troll, mind you, that I am pleased with, it's that this rule makes sense, and quick action was taken on a trolling situation. I know it seems like I'm brown-nosing, but I had a far too horrible expirience on the MT forums, (where they actually modshipped a troll-ish person in their elitist ignorance), to let positive efforts such as this go unpraised.

could I have a definition for "troll?" I know it sounds pretty self explanetory, but, I'm not a big forum guy, and I want to make sure I got this stuff down.

It's not a stupid question! I was hoping someone would ask so that we could have a reference point for what's considered a troll in these parts. The other mods might have different definitions, but to me, a troll is someone who posts with the clear and sole purpose of being an asshole, and with the hope of getting everyone else worked up enough over their asinine behavior to flame them.

The last guy I banned was a classic example of a troll, and I'd say Quackzilla was too, if anyone remembers him. If you're not quite sure if a poster is a troll, you can either check their post count and join date (if the former is really low and the latter is pretty recent, like within a day or two, it could be), or just let a mod know about it and see what they think.

neurotic wasn't really a troll, he was just crazy. quackzilla on the other hand was certainly stirring up trouble on purpose

Neurotic most definitely was a troll, he's why I made the new rule in the first place. I don't know what you call it when someone expressly baits people into flaming him, as he did in at least one of the threads of his I deleted, but I call it trolling.

I also wish someone had told me about the way he was behaving in the "Official Blog" thread, because he would've been gone for good a lot sooner if I'd seen that. The fact that he got a five-day ban for it and immediately came back to post all the crap he did is proof enough for me that he was a troll.
