No, 42 is the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything. It is not, in fact, the meaning of life.

I'm new here, otherwise you could've guessed it'd be me.
As for what I think the meaning of life is? I fall fairly close to Epicurus on that one. |

Oh. You mean you actually wanted a serious answer?
Well, in my opinion, the meaning of life isn't to reproduce. In fact, reproduction in and of itself would be a rather worthless goal for humanity. If people continued to reproduce endlessly, and yet no evolution took place, we'd just constantly create different and varying replicas of ourselves, but truly accomplish nothing in process. I think the meaning of life is to be part of the painstaking process of evolution - which, while it includes reproduction, also includes the acts of killing or harming those you dislike, as well as aiding those you like. From a sheer biological perspective, everything we do...from killing Iraqi militants to carrying bags for beautiful women...is an act of natural selection. We're constantly favoring the wealthy, intelligent, strong, and like-minded, while directly or indirectly weeding out those we consider unsavory. It's micro-evolution in process. Eventually, millions or even billions of years from now, I predict that humans will either have become demigods, or have destroyed themselves somewhere along the way.

well, reproduction is the most fun bit. Well, the reproduction without the actual reproduction, if you get my drift.
