My Musical Woes

I've been looking for a specific type of music lately. List of things I'm looking for

Preferably progressive, but not necessary
technical guitar
Good and unique vocal (style)
Good writing (Not necessary, depending)

I'm looking most specifically at The Human Abstract as well as Protest the Hero. Both of these bands have unique vocal styles when it comes to their genre, PTH especially. THA's is more unique in his use of all three styles of common vocals, which is to say entirely clean singing, scratchy yells, and full out screams. Both of them have technical guitar when, again, it comes to the genre. There's more technical, yeah, but normally you can't fit that into a normal metalcore song.

And to be totally honest, I'm of the opinion that each and every person in both bands is skilled to the point of me liking them. It's not like "The guitarist is good, but the bassist sucks".

Does anyone know of any other bands similar to these guys? I can't find a thing.

Also, for some humor, if you know the bands, I made a radio station on pandora that only included Protest the Hero, The Human Abstract, and Between the Buried and Me. You wanna know what it gave me for the first song?

I laughed. Hard. Don't get me wrong, I loves me some killswitch but thats so out of place. XD

Edit: Actual progress! On my own! And so soon after the start of this thread. I found something called "With Passion" that have ... most of what I'm looking for instrumentally but not vocally. Sad story.

I dunno about similarty to those bands, but Tool fits your criteria to a T.

If Mondt hasn't already been listening to Tool for what would have to be almost his entire life at this point then something is wrong with the world.

You may enjoy At the Drive In or Coheed and Cambria.

Alternately, you might hate them both.

Tool does fit it. Tool is totally badass and I don't know why I never acquired any of their music, but I haven't. All I've got is 10000 days. And I hardly ever listen.

Probably because the first song is Vicarious and the radio pretty much got me all Vicarious'd out.
