Colbert in Space : Node 3 to be named april 14

THis is certainly mock news, but it has a small tone of "seriousness" behind it, so here we are. I've bee following this over the Colbert Report for some time. It's kinda weird actually... it generated all this major debate, talks about constitution, rights, and a whole bunch of stuff over this (follow the link above, the video is quite a example. Also, really funny.) The node will be named tomorrow on the Colbert Report. I'm not sure if they are actually going to name the node after him. But then again... the guy was Knighted last week! (does that even count?) So, any of you voted for Colbert? I know i did... what should he win the Pod naming? |

Because I take that as a grave insult to all the hard working and decent Knights from all around the world.

Of course not! i know Queen noor can knight people and all, But i don't know how the code of Knights take the idea of someone being Knighted with a TV Prop!
We have to call him Sir Colbert now!? Sir Colbert of the Space Toilet? |

Also, the fact that Jordan has no official knighthood, and that it has been said that it was just for the show. The character of Stephen Colbert has been knighted, but the man himself has not.

Also, taking the British example, even if he were to be knighted he couldn't be called "sir". This is because knighthoods involve swearing to a foreign head of state so foreigners usually only get honorary ones. It like Bill Gates has a KBE but you can't call him sir.

Well. but how about the space node?
Yes, Colbert won, and yes he brought a lot of attention to the space program in the progress... but i really don't think Nasa will put his name up there. |

Well, legally, NASA can do whatever they want. They made it clear in the rules that NASA has the full right to not use the winning name and instead could use a different one. If they choose to not use Colbert, they don't have to.
Of course, it'd be kind of dickish if they didn't. It's not like "Ass" or "Cockmongler" won. They decided to leave it up to vote, and since the winner wasn't an offensive name, they really shouldn't be pulling the plug on it.

Too much awesome for such a small space. Oh well. You can still punch your mother...if you want...
