i lost my entire AIM buddy list!

I got a new computer a few weeks ago. I downloaded and installed the latest version of AIM and logged in with the same account i've been using for a while now. I never backed up my buddy list because i logically thought that my buddy list was connected to my account, and i was right.

However, i was forced to download a update today to version 6.5.15.1. Now i have a completely blank buddy list. Nearly seven years of friends, gone.

Please tell me that there's a way to fix this.

Could be just the update messed up something, try re-installing AIM, and if that doesn't work, then you can check out any web-based client (meebo.com, aim.com probably has one too) and your buddy list should still be on there.

tried meebo, still nothing.

i was right when i said that my buddy list is connected to my account, right? if so, ill try reinstalling AIM.

Uh. This happened to me a few times.

Just leave it for a day or two. Usually it rights itself. a restart, and a bunch of starting AIM and quitting AIMs wouldn't go amiss, but it just randomly started back up for me.
