Zombieland is the Shit
One of the most entertaining movies I've seen in a long, long time.
The entire cast does a good job (Woody Harrelson plays a serious badass), it made me laugh out loud quite a few times (and I was chuckling most of the rest), it nicely plays around with a lot of zombie movie tropes, Bill Murray puts in a great appearance, and a zombie clown gets killed with a sledgehammer. In addition, there's a shitload of gorn, a zombie body count in the triple digits, and some of the most hilariously over-the-top zombie kills I've ever seen. Including one involving the Deliverance theme song and a facefull of banjo. *thumbs up* Last edited by Mr.Bookworm; 10-03-2009 at 11:24 PM. |

Should have opened on Groundhog Day...
Otherwise it was near perfect. |

"
Fuck this clown,
" was a moment of triumph and glory. I kinda want to list out my favorite themes and jokes, but I'd need the [spoiler2] tag, I think. And if I need to hide a wall of text, that means I'm writing a wall of text, so I'll just replace it all with this: I could write a wall of text about the awesome and funny stuff in this movie, which means there's a wall of text-worth on awesome, funny, and awesome and funny stuff in this movie. Don't go in expecting Shaun of the Dead, because it's a very different film, but do go. Or steal it off the internet or something, though you'll probably miss some jokes in the background.

The best way to watch this flick is with 75-odd other zombie fans who applaud the great parts, boo the Twilight trailer and cheer when Shiloh's music video prematurely ends.

One of the best movies I've seen in a long time, despite the lower then expected amount of zombie scenes. I mean I loved every scene in that movie, and it was only after then I realized 90% of the zombies came at the tail-end of the movie.
Only complaint I had about the movie: Code Red sucks. |

Did you just diss Repo?
I've lost so much respect for you. Zombieland is an awesome movie filled with comedy and Ghostbusters. It manages to give a decent survival-horror-ish feeling while still allowing for badassery and action, and even manages a romance subplot that doesn't feel stupid and cliche. Fantastic movie. |

That Shiloh, TDK. There was a problem with the projector and it ended suddenly. Quite literally, the entire theater cheered. Last edited by Seil; 10-07-2009 at 12:35 AM. |
