Default An open letter to Brian.

So the past few weeks, pretty much every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, all I've been doing is bitching, moaning, complaining, about how you needed to give us the Epilogue already. Now it's here, and I've had the little NEW! icon blinking at me for five minutes, and I'm reluctant to click it - because once I click it, it ends. 8 Bit Theater, which was my first webcomic, which I've been reading since around the 40th comic, when I was on dial up, ends. After being one of the first things I think to do when I wake up every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday for over 8 years now; now it's just gone. Thank you, Brian, for letting me read the wacky misadventures of these characters I should totally hate, except for Fighter, yet have grown to love. May all your projects be as successful. Now, I'm gonna go read the epilogue. For the record.... I like swords.

Thank you for letting me be better, NPF.

I already said it on Twitter, but thanks, you probably have no idea what 8 Bit Theater means to some of your most adept fans. At least for me, it was an important part of every Tue/Thu/Sat... i patiently waited for the first hours of the day so I could read your new entry... I started reading it since number 3, and since then, It's been my default website in any browser I've had.

I must thank you for all these 9 years you gave your fans. Your amazing writing and world will forever live in my mind! Thank you very much for everything Brian!

I feel that it is symbolic. I see it as Brian saying goodbye to sprite comics, and moving on to bigger and better things.

It is for this reason, that even though Brian has "ended" the comic several times, I believe that this is truly "The End".

I can't remember if I read this comic back in its early days. I remember hearing about it. Yet I did not become a reader until a few years ago. I didn't read the comic in order, I would read the latest update, then go back and pick up where I left off in the archive. It did take me a while to get caught up.

This comic was something special. Yet it is time for Brian to start making a living off of his talents. Brian congratulations. You are living the dream.

Mhm. I don't know about anyone else, but several years ago, 8-bit theater actually changed my life. Before then, I was a whiny depressed bitch, but 8-bit theater taught me that there's nothing in life so bad that you can't get through it by raising your arms over your head, arching one of your eye brows, and complaining about it in a hilariously ironic way.

Or whatever. That's kind of a metaphor, but, yeah, I AM serious.
