I just wrote the best opening scene for a TV series ever.
Opening:
The boss of the hospital sits in his office doing hospital boss stuff. (I'd like to get the guy who was Dean Learner being Thornton Reed in Darkplace for this. Or maybe Samuel L. Jackson, in which case I'd have to edit the dialogue) Suddenly the telephone rings and the hospital boss picks it up. >HB "Hello" (barely audible person on the other end of the line) >HB "WHAT!? How many are injured (barely audible person on the other end of the line) >HB "Dear god!" (barely audible person on the other end of the line) >HB "Yes, we can handle it" (hangs up) (ponders for a second, then calls his assistant) >HB "Sarah, we need Dr. Rocking" Sarah "But he's on vacation, no one knows where he is" >HB "Sarah, we NEED Dr. Rocking! We have an emergency!" >Sarah "I'm on it sir" Next thing we see is a random explosion in the sky, a testosterone fueled rocking guitar song plays. A helicopter emerges out of the explosion. Now there are several other explosions randomly appearing in the sky as the helicopter hovers over a parking lot. Being unable to land due to the many cars which stand around the only passenger and, of course, pilot of the machine jumps out of the helicopter and as he hits the ground the helicopter explodes, at about the same moment the guitar solo in the song starts. That jumper turns out to be a long-haired leather-clad sun glasses wearing man Perhaps with a badass beard. (Maybe he looks somewhat like Snake Plissken from Escape from New York/LA) >several Nurses "Oooooh, Dr. Rocking, you're here just on time" Several nurses appear. Not in actual nurse outfits, but the skimpy ones, you'd see in bad movies or porn. Dr. Rocking extends his arms and waits for the nurses to don him his white long leather coat, which they do. >One Nurse snuggling up to Dr. Rocking "Oh, Dr. Rocking! Your parents must be proud of you! >Dr. Rocking "Coarse they are, I'm Dr. Rocking!" (Bold White Letters that spell DR. ROCKING appear) Next scene has Dr. Rocking standing in the ER with a nurse and a patient in critical condition >Dr. Rocking "I need Insane Human Butchery by Debauchery, but not the Radio version, this is gonna be a long night" This can be in other episodes as well, with a different reference, all instead of requesting tools >Dr. Rocking "It's time for some Zeppelin, bring me the Gallow's Pole or... >Dr. Rocking "It's the Night Of The Long Knives, fire it up." or... >Dr. Rocking "Here Comes The Pain! Don't worry, it's just a Slayer song. And when he's losing someone >Dr. Rocking "Go up the stairway to heaven and see the great gig in the sky, my friend. Best. Idea. Ever. This is so great. EDIT: Actually, this would go well as a Scrubs daydream, but that's over.

Thank you Krylo, and thank you IG for thinking of that opening.
This is an awesome comic. (And the opening too, of course!)

I'd watch and/or then go read that comic.
I feel sorry for Insane Genius, this is like "Simpsons did it!" or something 'cause they have this really cool idea for a parody that sounds totally original--and somebody came up with it at least a few months ago! Last edited by Magus; 06-21-2010 at 03:41 PM. |

Damn, I had that idea years ago, but it took me SO long to flesh it out. I've been beat to it and I've been bested.
Oh well, I'll now proceed to burn the entire scripts for the one season I wrote. This could've been so awesome. It may be worth noting that Dr. Rocking would use your usual Surgery tools in fusion with rock and metal music instead of just rocking out with his guitar or suggesting abominations like the Bee Gees, ugh. So he's not at all like Dr. Guitar Solo. Plus Dr. Rocking sounds much better and is less glam.
