My music library was killed by AIDS. Help me rebuild it.
My old music library got wiped out by computer viruses. I got everything back up and running right, and have all my antivirus and whatever taken care of, thats not what this thread is about.
This thread IS about how now my music folder is empty and I am a sad panda. I've already gone and replaced all the stuff I like enough to keep CD's on (Muse, Gorillaz, MCR, Daft Punk and a few others). Anyone have any ideas for bands I should try listening to? I'll listen to pretty much anything that isn't country or rap, and even some rap I can deal with. No country though. Just... no country. So, any ideas? |

You could always get into Chinese/Korean hip-hop-inspired dance pop.

Actually just got me a lot of Maximum the Hormone (The japanese metal band that did the intro to Death Note's second season) so Im good on foreign gibberish music I don't understand.
Also, a guy on steam pointed me towards Pendulum, which is amazing. Anyone into techno/electronica should look them up in the youtubes. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZ9JT1WOGjk) Last edited by Pip Boy; 07-25-2010 at 11:47 PM. |

Check out Venetian Snares' Cavalcade of Glee and Dadaist Happy Hardcore Pom Poms. (It's uh, an album)
VSnares is (mostly instrumental) electronica of varying styles. And I have no idea which ones because I don't care. It's probably not exactly your taste because It appears to be no one's but mine and all the other people who buy his albums. But worth giving a try. My favorite Track Another nice track from the same album called Pwntendo EDIT: On second thought, maybe his My Downfall (Official Soundtrack) album is much more accessible, since it's the least breakcore-y of his records. (I don't pretend to know, what this actually means, I'm just echoing the wikipedia article) EDIT2: Seriously, the guy claims his real name is Aaron Funk. That's how you know it's awesome.

You might try Zombina and the Skeletones. They aren't like any of the bands you mentioned, but you never know. They're a horror genre of music.
song that got me into them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-So4wMPtOAE Another good one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQ2E8-XoeLU Along the same lines but with a different sound is Nekromantix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBcmUhOg8Xw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yu3Tc...eature=channel Tiger Army: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgu53pXahww http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BU-EV...feature=avmsc2 The Creepshow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bp2UHWuf7UY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSAVH182i_s Jonathan Coulton: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_ryNJVreiY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zidiWe9yq88 Sugar Ray: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPcX-5Tmqt8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqr4o...eature=related |
