[PC] Recommend me a video game
You know how you're always saying to yourselves, "Gosh I love telling people my opinions, yet when I offer them to people unsolicited, I get strange looks / told to fuck off / pepper spray in my eyes"?
Well today is your opinions' lucky day, becaus I am soliciting them. Now that we have established that Dragon Age is balls, recommend me a game that isn't balls. Conditions: 1. I have to be able to buy it on Steam. That is pretty much all the conditions.

Dragon Age.
But for serious: KotoR is available on Steam now, FO3 GotY, and Bloodlines.

Monkey Island, if you don't already have it. My only complaint is that you don't get the VA with the classic graphics. I dislike the new cartoony style. It just sacrifices something after the series started with the most realistic graphics they had at the time.

If through some horrible, horrible fluke you've never played Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episodes 1&2, you should resolve that right now.
The Left4Dead franchise is a lot of fun, if you've never played it. GMod is a blast if you like building vehicles and death machines for no reason other than for the lulz. It's basically a sandbox in which you have access to all of the props, ragdolls, and AI-controlled NPCs from Half-Life, Portal and TF2. (You have to own the aforementioned games in order to access the models, though.)

Team Fortress 2. Maybe wait until it goes on sale again, but even at $20 it's a good deal for the amount of time you can squeeze from it. Still updating, too.

The problem I have with buying multiplayer FPS games like TF2 or even L4D (though less so) this long after their release is that the metagame has already progressed really heavily, and catching up to the curve is a bitch and a half.
Though yeah, TF2 is totally awesome if you can deal with being a total 'nubzorz' for the first week or so of playing.

Given that, I'd say TF2 for $20 is probably a good deal (note that I've never played).
