Smallville: Greatest Show on Television or Greatest Show on Television?
Hey everybody, Smallville is back in action (has been for a couple weeks, actually) for it's last season. Ever. Clark is trying to find his identity as a purveyor of hope and the world is being put in danger by as of yet unseen forces. Also, he's ditched that horrible black get-up for something slightly more tolerable costume that brings back the red and blue.
With this new season bringing back more characters and introducing new plotlines that don't insult the viewer's intelligence as much as they used to. With the future looking brighter, does Smallville have a chance to redeem itself as a respectable show in it's final season? |

Can we all go back to watching Jersey Shore now? But seriously, I've had a hard time taking Smallville very seriously since about the third season or so because that was around the time you could tell the writers all of a sudden realized they'd written themselves into a hole. Specifically, the hole that "Oh shit he's supposed to become Superman." Then they tried to desperately put that rather important detail in the "don't open" box until it could no longer be halted. This coincidentally lasted about a season longer than I was willing to watch it because I am a fickle creature and crave instant satisfaction.

I was kind of excited about watching Smallville's last season, figuring they could pull out all the stops and actually deliver a decent finale.
Unfortunately, they then made Deadshot into a cowboy with a southwestern twang. OH DEAR GOD MAKE IT STOP PLEASE MAKE IT STOP This series is horrible. For every good thing they did with the universe, they did ten bad things. |

Having just watched Friday's episode, I've got nothing to say.

The only way is to have Superman and Darkseid beat the living shit out of each other in a 2 hour long series finale. Not this black cloud Darkseid, but the actual Darkseid.

This Darkseid will probably never expand beyond Dark Cloud of Doom defeated in the final episode ala Galactus in Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Possibly even defeated through the power of love. |
