The rumors broke last week that a six-minute prologue from director Christopher Nolan’s newest Batman film The Dark Knight Rises will be attached to the release of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. Well, it’s confirmed and official, folks!

On Monday, AMC Theaters confirmed the Batman prologue sequence will indeed air in front of the new Mission Impossible, beginning December 16th.

Great news! But wait, there’s more — the prologue won’t be quite as widespread as you might think…

It seems that only the big, 70mm IMAX theaters are going to air the prologue from The Dark Knight Rises. Other theaters that feature digital IMAX and have smaller screens will not have the prologue.

So if you thought the IMAX theater near you was a sure bet, you better confirm that it’s a “true” IMAX theater with the giant screens (not the digital IMAX screens that tend to run about 30 or so feet in height). This should tell you how big the sequence is going to be, since it was shot entirely in IMAX and Mr. Nolan and Warner Bros. wants to ensure it’s seen on the proper scale.

SOMEONE FEED THAT LADY PLEASE!!!!!!!!

.....

ok....huh...

It's great that they are doing this, it's a way to improve hype before the movie comes out, since there is just not way it can beat the previous one... but it should still be good... ish.

I mean, Catwoman and that militaristic rendition of the Batplane... i dunno. Also Bane seems a little "off" to me, but any rendition of Bane in live action that doesn't use tons of CGI will look a bit weird (still better than the OTHER bane in batman movies)

Let me just say that people are complaining you can't understand Bane. Well maybe in full IMAX surround-sound where the bass of the music is booming in your ears, but I can assure you that he is pretty understandable through...other means...of watching this. He is also pretty hilarious, if grainy as hell (WINK WINK NUDGE NUDGE).

Anyway, when Bane said, " Perhaps he is wondering why someone would shoot a man before throwing him out of a plane?" I busted a gut.

So, what's the feel of the Prologue? Does it look like it's going to be a good movie after all?

Since this is the last Nola Btman movie, maybe now they will green light that idea i had about making a Batman Beyond live action movie where Kevin Conroy plays the Old Batman and Mark Hamil plays the Old Joker.

...cause, at that point my pants are blowing off into the sky.

It's like they took all of the complaints of Bale's batman voice, and just said let's make a character that's even harder to understand.

I am a little taken aback at how completely unphased I am at the second teaser. I don't really know what to make of it. I am, of course, still excited for the film itself.

Hey, I dunno, "WURN GOTHERM IS ASHES YOU HAVE MY PERMSION TO DIE!" just seemed cooler than "ARRGHH ARE THEY?!" Bane's just that cool.

My guess as to the plot with the trailer: Bane leads a "revolt" using the escaped criminals against the wealthy and high society of Gotham. That is why it looks like Bruce and Alfred are in a prison at points, with shaggy beards/torn up clothing. Bane reverses things by putting the city elite, government officials, and guards into the prison and lets the criminals run things. That's why Catwoman says that line about how she is surprised the rich could get away with taking everything forever. It also seems to be implied that Bruce or Gordon or somebody gets their back broken, from the "when Gotham is ashes, you have my permission to die" line. He seems to be taunting somebody, and it shows Bruce prone. Plus in the original teaser Gordon was in a hospital bed. Seems like somebody's getting their back broken, anyway. That's my best guess. I know from the Pittsburgh shoots that the arena scene is where Bane blows up the field and reveals himself to the city, along with his "doomsday" device.

I think it looks pretty cool. You know they had to go over the top to outdo The Dark Knight, and the stuff from the prologue just looks like the tip of the iceberg.

I think that one second shot of Joseph Gordon-Levitt was the only part that really got my interest.
