So Ben 10 recently got a new CGI movie. By Ben 10 I mean the ORIGINAL Ben 10 show just got a new movie.

Ben becomes targeted by an evil Mechamorph Warrior named "Retaliator", who mistakenly blames Ben for something he did not do and attempts to destroy all aliens.

Hard to say. It takes place after the events of the original cartoon but before the events of Alien Force.

It was pretty good. Not amazing but pretty good for a CGI action movie. I really loved the number of twists in this movie and how there's actually no bigbad the entire thing is center around and reveiled to be about Gwen's dismantel spelled that she casted on Ben by accident when they were fighting a urban assualt tank, breaking the Omnidrix and causing it to start downloading and uploading alien data and everything around it.

All of the fighting is due to a misunderstanding of the situation caused by Ben lieing about the Omnidrix being fine and not glitching out when it was causing major problems and needed repairs.

While that's annoying in and of itself. I was most annoyed by the shift from "It's a crazy mixed-up world of fun and exitement with mutants and wizards and aliens!" to "It's alien turtles all the way down"

By Ultimate it's more or less back to how Ben originally started. With Onmiverse trying to take What made the Original Ben 10 show great and turn it up to 11.

By that I mean magic is back to being magic by Ultimate and up. The lead writer reads his blog and was quick to fix the show back to what it was once the fans began to complain.

In a way Ben 10 Onmiverse (tvshow) is like an apology to the fanbase. Same goes for this movie which hints how Onmiverse is going to be like.

There were a lot of really clumsy writing snags, like feeling the need to append "the inventor of the Omnitrix?" whenever Azmuth is mentioned, or the Mechamorph dude being an utterly blind rage machine only for this to be swept under the rug by someone saying, "Bro I told you not to use that tech! It makes you super angry a lot!" right at the end. Also, the "Destroy All Aliens" thing was only mentioned like, once. It wasn't even an overarching plot. It was just something the dude said because he was pissed off.

The animation also just felt awkward to me, and the "teaser" of Omniverse was a pitiful thirty second commercial rather than a proper trailer.

I was really disappointed in it. Can you tell? But maybe I'm being unfair because I watched the Korra pilot immediately before this.
